Apartment Schienerberghütte. 80 sqm on the Höri on the western shore of Lake Constance Other things to note Our small village of Schienen is located about 200 m above Lake Constance. In the comfortable location, we are often lucky to be closer to the sun and escape the fog on the lake. Surrounded by meadows, fields and forests, it's perfect for hiking or cycling. Around Lake Constance there is a well-developed network of cycling and hiking trails, which is just waiting to be explored by you. In Öhningen there is a bicycle and e-bike rental shop. For the very active, downhill routes (bike park) in all difficulty levels are available on the Schiener Berg. If you just want to take a short walk in the village itself, you will discover fresh products from the Höri peninsula in the "Lädele". If you go a few meters further, the pilgrimage church of St. Genesius is not far and always worth a visit. If it is to be a special evening, you have something to celebrate or just want to treat yourself to something, then the star restaurant "Falconera" on the outskirts of Schienen (with reservation) is recommended. In summer and always good for cooling off, Lake Constance is only a 5-minute drive away. In Öhningen, south of Schienen, there is the beach with a large, partially shady green area, children's playground and a volleyball field. The flat sandy beach is ideal for small children to build sand castles, a bathing island and the diving tower offer a lot of fun for the adults! Would a boat tour be something for you? Then it's on to Wangen (approx. 10 minutes' drive) to the "Bootsstüble". Here, for example, canoes in different sizes are rented by the hour and there is the possibility to book guided tours. If you prefer to take a seat and let the wind blow around your nose, a boat trip on Lake Constance is recommended. From Öhningen or Wangen it is possible to do a kind of Lake Constance shore hopping. Another destination and also very close is the small town of Stein am Rhein (Switzerland) right "next door". The historic old town with its narrow streets and numerous timber-framed houses directly on the Rhine invite you to look and linger. Another highlight is a visit to the monastery of St. George's Abbey or a hike to Hohenklingen Castle. For shopping on a large scale, the cities of Radolfzell (approx. 15 minutes) with e.g. its Seemaxx outlet, Singen am Hohentwiel (approx. 20 minutes) with numerous shops in the city center and of course Konstanz (approx. 40 minutes) are easily accessible by car.
