St. Louis Hills with a View
We love the view from our front window, the neighborhood "walkability", (to Bread Company, Do-nut Shop, a great deli/grocery store, "world-famous" frozen custard stand), and the general vibrancy of city living. Francis Park, directly across the street, is the focal point of the neighborhood, with tennis, pickle ball and handball courts, children's playground , and a constantly used sidewalk for running or dog walking, weekly "Band Concerts" in summer, or sledding in winter. Our home is a two story , mid century duplex with spacious rooms, lovely views and great location for ease in driving to all the attractions of St. Louis. Apartment is on the second floor. Visitors stay in a separate, spacious 2 bedroom plus, 2nd floor apartment with private entrances. Guest can expect access to information and help throughout their visit. We'll greet you with some fresh goodies as a welcoming treat, and provide suggestions/directions for restaurants, activities, local "gems". The neighborhood is vibrant and active during the day because of Francis Park, but very quiet and safe at night. Many local restaurants, (our favorite, Trattoria Marcella) specialty food stores/bakeries (Pint Size is first rate), Starbucks, are close by and easily accessible. Apartment is three blocks to the nearest local bus line, and one mile to the Metro Hub with several bus lines serving it. Driving distances to area attractions (St. Louis Zoo, Art Museum, Forest Park - 5 miles, Busch Stadium or Riverfront - Arch, - 8 miles, Washington University - 5 miles, St.. Louis University 7 miles, ) Airport -Uber availability but also METROLINK line can be used to the Shrewsbury Station, then one mile to the apartment. Guest have access to the backyard with gas grill available, and front porch seating for people watching (bikers, joggers, walkers in the park across from our home.
