The oiled planks, with which part of the walls are also covered, have a beautiful patina and the antique tiled stoves as well as interesting furnishings recall the time when the sailor of the village felt comfortable here. In the sauna in the shepherd's carriage, you can enjoy the silence of the garden and the sound of 80-year-old Douglas fir trees. Guest access The sailmaker, who lived here for a few years and mended the sails of the barges, which then sailed out to the Baltic Sea, gave the house its name. Surely you will feel just as comfortable here as he does in his time. Today, the sailing house is right place to escape the stresses of everyday life. Relax with long walks on the water or in the adjacent pine forest. You can use our rowing boats in our natural harbor, just 500 m away. How about a rowing boat tour into the most beautiful sunset on the Baltic Sea? The fishing village of Rieth with its 148 inhabitants is a very special gem on the Szczecin Lagoon. Even when you drive into the village, you will be welcomed by pre-Pomeranian brick and half-timbered houses as well as well-kept farm gardens. Soothing to know that you have to drive back the only road that leads to the place. There is no through traffic. Arriving at Dorfanger (Herrengarten) with its ancient chestnuts, you will see the former "Gasthof zum Blauen See", whose exterior has not changed for 150 years and is now a holiday home. Vis à vis is located in the former small syringe house, the smallest museum in Germany, the Riether Heimatstube with exhibits from the Szczecin Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. If you drive further into the village, you pass the former village school, half-timbered church, former forestery and a few meters further the castle Rieth. Then you can reach the natural harbor by sailing and fishing boats, gates, nets. From here, take the boat across the lagoon to the Baltic Sea. Now it is only a few meters to the beach. The forest bathing area is particularly ideal for children, as the water here only gradually becomes deeper. The sailing house is also ideal for a holiday with a dog, because it is completely fenced. Other things to note The best way to reach Rieth is by car (rental car). The nearest train station is in Eggesin. From here you can reach Rieth by taxi for about 15.- to 20.-. Please note, if you arrive by train: there is no grocery store in the village. These would have to be ordered online in advance, e.g. at mytime or before starting the taxi ride.
