Close to everything Oak Island has to offer - sand, surf, fishing, boating and biking - whatever your heart desires. A well stocked kitchen to enjoy a dinner in or treat yourself to one of the many Oak Island and Southport restaurants. The space Located in the Tranquil Harbor section of Oak Island, the home is 5 blocks from the beach where you can view the most unforgettable sunsets. The home is just around the corner from the free public boat launch so bring your boat. Located on a quiet residential street, it is an easy stroll or bike ride to several restaurants, the Food Lion, Dairy Queen and shopping. Southport is just a short drive away for a day of shopping, dining, or a trip to Bald Head Island by ferry. If you are more adventurous, take the Fort Fisher ferry to Carolina Beach and have a drink at the tiki bar on the beach, or drive to Wilmington and explore the battleship. The welcome information provides all you need to know about easy access public beach parking, places to eat and things to do. If you are interested in renting bikes, kayaks and other beach toys we can help you arrange for them to be delivered to the house. Please just ask. The home has been stylishly decorated with maximum comfort in mind. Guests often comment on the cleanliness and attention to detail, The house is all one level and perfect for those that may have some mobility issues. There are three bedrooms and it sleeps six people with a king bed, a queen bed, and two twin beds. There is a master bathroom, a shared bathroom for the other two bedrooms and an outdoor shower to rinse off the salt and sand at the end of a day at the beach. Enjoy the new fire pit in the back yard, or the piece de resistance, the screened porch with its table for six and hanging bed. Take a nap or even spend the night on it. I promise the cool breeze of ocean air and the sounds of the island will lull you to a blissful sleep. The house comes with a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of other creature comforts to make you feel right at home. There is an outdoor grill for all you grill masters. There is high speed Wifi at the house and the TV has access to all the local channels as well as Hulu and Netflix. There is also access to Amazon Prime if you have an account. If you elect to disconnect, there are books and games available too. All linens and towels are included, as is body wash, shampoo, conditioner, kitchen soap, and cleaning supplies. We will provide you with a couple rolls of paper towels and toilet paper and trash bags to get you started. We do not provide Beach Towels or beach chairs so please don’t forget to bring them with you (or I can tell you where to rent them). The Bean is located 2 hours from Raleigh, 3 ½ hours from Charlotte and an easy 6 ½ hour drive from the DMV. There is no excuse not to visit. Guest access The week of your arrival we will send the code for the door and all the check-in procedures. It is very easy, you arrive, let yourself in, and your vacation has begun. No keys to worry about. We are available to answer any questions you may have, so don’t hesitate to ask. We want you to love the house and the area as much as we do! If we are not on the island ourselves, we have a house manager that is just minutes away if necessary. We ask for you to keep the number of guests to 6 or less, though we will permit an additional child under 2 years old. While our guests have full run of the house, we ask that you please respect the locked closet and shed. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE: Busy Season (May – August): We require a 3 night minimum. Any bookings made outside these parameters will be cancelled unless pre-approved by us first. Off Season (September – April): We require a 2 night minimum. Please contact us for discounts on any reservations longer than 14 days. Active military, law enforcement and fire fighters, we offer a 10% discount off the nightly rate with a valid ID. Please contact me either before or after booking to adjust the price. Check-in/Check-out: Check-in is between 3pm – 10pm. Check out is 10am. While we try to accommodate our guests as much as possible, check-in and check-out times during the busy season are strictly adhered to due to the short amount of time we have to prepare the house for the next guests. Travel Insurance: All guests are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance prior to their trip in case of emergency trip cancellation. This is especially crucial during hurricane season. Other things to note READ THE HOUSE MANUAL for "Things Not To Forget!" during the stay such as beach umbrellas, coolers for the beach, beach towels, sunscreen, food to eat, toiletries, etc. Check in and out procedure listed there also. You can do absolutely everything on this island or nothing at all. Our home is perfect for small families, girls or guys weekends, or couple getaways. It's just not for smoking, raucous parties or inconsiderate people. If you are prone to either please don't make a reservation.
