Stay North - Private Nuuksio Retreat

Nuuksio Retreat is a spacious property on the edge of Nuuksio National Park, about 25 minutes from Helsinki. This secluded home offers three bedrooms, a wood-fired sauna, and a large conservatory for relaxed meals and reading. Outdoors, a heated pool (summer only), 8-person jacuzzi, Finnish grill hut, and a private trail to the nearby lake create many ways to spend time in nature. Guests can ski, hike, and explore year-round, returning to a comfortable base with modern facilities. The space The property sits at the top of a private hill surrounded by forest, offering a peaceful setting with no immediate neighbours. Inside, the original 19th-century structure has been updated to include three bedrooms, each with quality bedding and an en-suite bathroom. One of the downstairs bedrooms has a fireplace for cooler nights, while the upstairs room with a king-size bed and two singles is stocked with books and games, making it well-suited for families. The living area combines rustic beams and contemporary comforts, with deep sofas, a large TV with streaming services, a Playstation 4, and a collection of films. In the kitchen, you’ll find an induction hob, oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and a wide selection of cookware and utensils. Meals can be shared in the conservatory, which faces the forest and opens onto the terrace. Outdoors, there is plenty of space to spend time together. The heated pool is open from late spring to early autumn, while the jacuzzi and sauna can be used in any season. A large lawn has football goals and summer games, and a short marked path leads to the lake, where a rowing boat is available for guests. Evenings can be spent around the fire in the separate Finnish timber grill house or cooking in the outdoor kitchen equipped with a large BBQ. In winter, the area offers cross-country skiing, sledding, and walks on frozen lakes, while summer brings opportunities for hiking and cycling. Other amenities include fast Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a washing machine, and parking. The property is best reached by car, though it is also possible to arrive by bus and walk a short distance. This is a place to experience Nuuksio’s natural beauty while enjoying the comforts of a well-prepared home, whether you are planning outdoor adventures or quiet days in the forest.
