Whitepine Cottage is also the perfect place to re-energize your creative side--whether you are a writer, painter or photographer, you will find no shortage of subject matter for inspiration. Canoeists will experience the serenity of the river and the tranquil beauty of the marsh with its many hidden lakes and waterways. Conroys Marsh abounds with wildlife viewing and birding opportunities, especially in the early morning and evening hours, The surrounding pre-cambrian mountains create the perfect back-drop for this hidden, magical treasure of the Madawaska Valley. Trips can vary in length, depending on ability and route, but most trips typically take from 3-4 hours. Whether using one of our canoes or kayaks, or paddling your own, we are here to assist you with your wildlife-viewing adventure from start to finish. Enjoy 1/2 mile of river frontage on the York River. Whitepine Cottage is tucked away in a very private setting on the Upper Conroy Rapids. Relax on the riverside terrace, sunbathe on the warm sand, swim in the refreshing waters, experience a full body massage in the swirling waters, or meditate on one of the many huge boulders in the river. Great for the whole family--young and old. There is a public beach with picnic tables and shelters on a small lake 3 miles away on Foster's Lake. The water is warm and shallow, ideally suited to families with young children looking for an afternoon outing. A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 30 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 14 to 29 days before check-in.
