While surrounded by the peaceful and vast NM landscape, you are only a picturesque walk to Canyon Road, downtown and the historic Plaza for food, shopping, galleries, music & all the culture Santa Fe has to offer! Built in 1929, the property, including the casita, has been well maintained by our family for 3 generations. This hidden gem’s interior is thoughtfully decorated with an inspired mix of historic elegance and modern luxury with walls covered in original artwork. The many windows create a light and airy atmosphere and the three exterior doors lead to the two private garden (roses and dahlias) patios for your exclusive use. The interior is complete with Saltillo tile floors, a spacious living room with a comfortable couch with a queen size pullout bed and a working kiva fireplace, an additional sitting room with couch and chair, a sizeable bedroom with a king size mattress (Stearns and Foster) with high thread count linens, a surprisingly large walk-in closet, a full bath and a well-equipped kitchen suitable for fine cooking. The modern kitchen includes a Bosch refrigerator, microwave and electric stove (we could not put in a gas stove unfortunately), Kenmore dishwasher, a large assortment of pots, pans and cookware, beautiful dinnerware and glassware, Keurig, drip, French Press and Italian espresso coffee makers, and a Bosch washer and dryer. The intricate wooden dining table seats 4 comfortably. Setup as the ultimate retreat, the casita is equipped with high-speed Internet, Smart tv and cable tv. Flat screen televisions setup in the living room. There is also a stereo for CD's, AM/FM radio and MP3 players. All the windows have wooden blinds and curtains for those restful times when you need it dark and cozy. What really sets this casita apart are the two private garden patios for your exclusive use and being pet friendly. The patios include a traditional portal with a covered full-size dining table to seat 6-8, a sunlit smaller table and chairs to seat 4, two lounge chairs, and a propane grill. The patios have partial views of the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and are perfect for lounging, grilling and dining. Both are fully enclosed for your pets safety and privacy. As you leave the property you realize you are just around the corner from the museums and canyon road, just up the street from the plaza and downtown or can easily head up in the mountains! We think you will LOVE IT! You will understand why New Mexico is called the Land of Enchantment when you experience the unique, rustic beauty of the high desert, it's cobalt skies and extraordinary sunsets, while you stay in this wonderful Southwest casita. Guest access There is a 4 person occupancy maximum for the casita (with the master king bed, and a queen size pullout sofa) and we do not permit parties. Guests have two private parking spaces inside the compound, in front of the casita. Please inquire if you have additional parking needs during your stay. Both patios are walled and gated for privacy and your exclusive use. Other things to note Thinking of bringing your pets? Our Pet Friendly Policy: Dogs must be pre-approved before booking the property. Please inquiry with pet information (breed/age) and rental dates. La Rosa Casita is a Pet-Friendly Santa Fe vacation rental welcoming discerning travelers and their well-behaved pets. Our Casita is set up beautifully for dogs (limit of 2). We are one of very few pet-friendly Santa Fe vacation rentals in the luxury market. However, you would never know that pets have stayed before you when you visit the Casita. This is because we employ meticulous housekeepers and rent to responsible pet owners. We will continue to be a pet-friendly vacation rental as long as our guests and their pets respect the Casita and it's rules. Dogs are the only pets allowed with an additional $150 pet fee. This fee covers steaming and deep cleaning of all surfaces to keep the Casita in the best condition for the next guests. Dogs must be pre-approved before booking the property. Please note, dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Please use the “pet sheet” to protect any bedding or furniture if necessary. The pet sheet can be found in the master bedroom closet. Please let us know if you need more because we really want to protect our furniture and rugs, thank you. The 2 private, gated patios attached to the Casita are for you and your dog’s exclusive use. Please NO digging. Dogs are NOT allowed to roam the larger property. Dog owners are responsible for picking up pet refuse and there is a “pooper-scooper” in the back patio. Please dispose of all pet waste in the dark green trash bin located just outside the side gate to the front patio. **If pet waste is found in the Casita or in the yard areas there is an additional flat fee of $50.00 for check-out cleaning/pick-up.** Please know we have three family dogs here on the property. We take care to keep them in their yard when guests are present. To protect both our dogs and your dogs and any house/property personnel from any possible confrontations we ask that you please, not let your dog roam freely on the larger property. Your dog MUST be leashed when exiting the casita dwelling. You are welcome to walk along the driveway to the back gate and up to the front gate with your leashed pet/s, thank you for respecting this boundary. Please do not leave your pet unattended in the house unless you crate them. We do not want scratching or any other damage. Please be considerate of our family and the neighbors and do not leave an otherwise well behaved dog that barks alone in the yard. No excessive barking will be tolerated and you will be asked to leave if barking becomes an issue. A small pet gate is included in the casita. We also ask that you use the "PET SHEETS" that are located in the master closet. Damages caused by pets are the responsibility of the owner. There is a great off-leash dog park in Santa Fe called Ortiz Park. The park is an easy drive from the Casita. You can hike along several ridges and arroyos with your dog off leash. Your dog will love it! We also allow you to walk your leashed dog on the gravel driveway towards the entrance gate or towards the back of the property (to green metal gate). PLEASE, DO NOT GO PAST THE GREEN METAL GATE. Rates are subject to change during high season (July-Aug, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). Registration details STR158813
