Listing Description
Come relax in the Emma Room at the historic Vineyard Mansion. This property was built in 1890, by the famed architectural firm of Eckel and Mann, for B.R. Vineyard, who was a prominent attorney in St. Joseph. Although divided into apartments in the 1940's, it has recently been restored back to its original use and we are now ready to welcome guests to enjoy the splendor of the Gilded Age.
The namesake of this room is the wife of the original owner and as the matriarch of the house, we have given her name to our largest accommodation. The Emma Room features a beautiful, king bed with sumptuous linens, an elegant seating area, and a fireplace. Motivated by traditional feminine desires, this room also has multiple closets, including a walk-in, and an en suite bath, replete with antique, pedestal-style sink and an alluring, claw-foot tub, making the perfect space to soak and unwind.
The Vineyard Mansion property is situated within the Museum Hill Historic District, an area of St. Joseph well-known for its stunning, Victorian-era homes. A stroll through the neighborhood affords the observer beautiful examples of Italianate, Second Empire, Queen Anne, Tudor Revival, American Foursquare, and Bungalow/Craftsman style architecture. Additionally, the property is within walking distance of multiple attractions, including restaurants, bars, art, culture, parks, and the St. Joseph Museum is located just across the street.
Guests booking now enjoy a discounted rate, as we are still restoring some sections of the property. So you not only get to pocket some savings, but you also get to see a bit of the restoration process, in action.
