Description
Built in the Arts and Craft tradition. The house and decor echo with a craftsmanship wood interior, best quality, and tasteful design which has withstood the test of time. Located inside Yosemite Park, in an area called Yosemite West. Yosemite National Park is now requiring park reservations on peak days. As this property is inside of the Yosemite National Park gates, park reservations are included with this rental. Park entrance fees still apply. The space From the Main entry, there is a window seat nook allowing a view of the woods or a place to read a good book. In the vaulted living room, a cheery fireplace lights the comfortable decor which connects to the wood-floored dining room. The wooden cabinetry and leaded doors tell of an era dedicated to tasteful wood trim and skilled detail. The flow-through kitchen has countertops selected to resemble the speckled granite so common in Yosemite. A fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and other amenities allow dining on the adjoining deck or inside in the distinctive window alcove. Downstairs is the family room with a futon and another fireplace. There is a TV/DVD, for movie viewing, (sorry no Satellite). Two bedrooms with a queen bed in the first bedroom, and a full & twin size bed in the second bedroom. Each bedroom has a three-window alcove and a rounded window seat; perfect for viewing the resplendent outdoors. The family room is ready for jigsaw puzzlers or games by the fire and includes a mini-bar for that late-night snack of s’mores. Fabrics in the house interweave the Indian, Asian, and Arts and Crafts themes popular in Yosemite during that era. There are two and 1/2 bathrooms, one on each floor, tiled with an Indian theme and arts and crafts wood shelving. Upstairs is the romantic master bedroom hideaway with its vintage Morris chair and warm glow of art glass lanterns. The Master bedroom has a king size bed, its own nook for reading, as well as its own deck, to catch a vista view of the sunset peeking through the sugar pines and spruce trees. With its refined, clean lines, this house is a place to treasure Yosemite. Built to the “craftsman” look of a time past, this cabin reflects an era when we had time to think, walk in the woods, or be with the people that we care about. Turn off the telephone, leave the computer in its bag, and enjoy a simpler world at Ahwahnichi Lodge. There are 3 parking spots over the summer months and 2 over the winter months. Due to the size of our homes, there are no early check-ins and no late checkouts. We have this question a lot and I’m sorry, the answer is no, It takes time to prepare a home this size, so we ask you kindly not to ask, Thank you! There is NO Wi-Fi in Yosemite ( there is no signal tower ), GPS does not work, nor cell phones. Dishware, cookware, silverware, blankets, pillows, linens and towels are provided. Condiments provided are hot chocolate, Folgers coffee and filters, sugar packets, cream packets, Lipton tea, and salt & pepper. We also provide dishwasher detergent, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and free firewood for units that have wood-burning fireplaces. All our properties come equipped with propane BBQs, and we provide the propane.
