We own and manage these small and vintage-boutique apartment buildings. We convert some or all of our units to furnished apartments available for extended stays. We specialize in offering fully furnished, stylish, and comfortable neighborhood stays. Note: we only offer extended stays of 31 nights or longer. THE 321 BUILDING: You will love our charming apartments in this classic Mid-Century apartment building. The building is located at 321 S. Maple Ave. in Oak Park and just a short walk from downtown Oak Park (5 minutes or less). This building was built in the early 1960s therefore it is an older building in which we are constantly improving. All the apartments and common areas have been updated and renovated. However, some features of the building reflect its age - and are typical of the older buildings in the Oak Park area. The building has 9 total apartments. It has four 2-bedroom (1 bathroom) apartments and five 1-bedroom apartments. This building is a California-Style building (common in Oak Park). Such buildings have hallways that are open to the outside (rather than enclosed hallways). THE APARTMENTS: All the apartments have been recently updated and renovated including updated kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors and flooring. In general, the apartments look and feel fresh and updated. Most of the apartments have a dishwasher. Our 1-bedroom apartments have a Queen size bed in the primary bedroom. Our 2-bedroom apartments have a Queen size bed in the primary bedroom and two twin (single) beds in the secondary bedroom. Each apartment has a desk or dedicated workspace. THE GUEST NEST WAY: We professionally manage this building and the lodging business and we will do everything we can to make your stay comfortable and complete. The apartments are well furnished and stylish with comfortable furniture. The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need to prepare a meal. We provide a smart TV (Roku) and high-speed wireless internet. The bedding and linens are fresh and comfortable and we can periodically provide fresh linens and towels. We maintain a management office nearby and we are available to assist you when needed. THE GUEST NEST PORTFOLIO: We have over 30 fully-furnished rentals in Villages of Oak Park, Forest Park, La Grange and River Forest. Each of these historic villages have long been known as great places to visit and to live. We have 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and a few studio apartments. Each comes with 1 parking space (we can sometimes accommodate a 2nd car). On a case-by-case basis, we will allow pets. Since we only do rentals of 31 nights or longer, these apartments are priced at our best monthly rate. Generally the furnished studios are $2,250 per month; furnished 1-bedrooms are $2,500; and furnished 2-bedrooms are $2,750. ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD: This apartment is located on a safe, friendly and historic tree-lined street in Oak Park. Neighboring homes include other apartment buildings, historic row-houses and homes. There are numerous Grocery stores within walking distance including Trader Joe's, Target, Whole Foods, and Jewel. There are many retail shops, restaurants, bars and cafes - all too within walking distance. A stay at this apartment can easily be accomplished without a car. ABOUT OAK PARK: Oak Park is a thriving suburban community located immediately adjacent to the City of Chicago. Oak Park is known worldwide for its wealth of historical and architectural sites, international cuisine, and a thriving and walkable downtown. Within its 4.5 square miles live one of the region's most diverse mixes of cultures, races, ethnicities, professions, lifestyles, religions, ages and incomes. The apartment is located in close proximity to 3 train lines with fast service to downtown Chicago: BLUE LINE CTA: is a 10 minute walk to the Harlem/Lake Blue Line Station in Forest Park. The Blue Line arrives in downtown Chicago (various stations) in approximately 23 minutes and then goes on to O’Hare Airport. GREEN LINE CTA: is a very near 4-5 minute walk to the Harlem/Lake Green Line Station in Oak Park. The Green Line arrives in downtown Chicago (various stations) in approximately 26 minutes. METRA: The Metra (Suburban Train Line) is a very close 4-5 minute walk to the Harlem/Lake Metra/CTA Station. The Metra train line arrives in downtown Chicago (Ogilvie Transportation Center) in approximately 5-20 minutes. PARKING: We have parking on the property if you arrive by vehicle. Please coordinate parking with the Host prior to your arrival. AIRPORTS: The apartment is centrally located between Midway and O’Hare airports. O’Hare is about 20-25 minutes by car. Midway is about 30-35 minutes by car. You can get to and from O’Hare Airport using the Blue Line CTA which runs 24/7 between Forest Park and O’Hare. You can get to and from Midway Airport using the Orange Line and transferring to the Blue Line CTA (to Harlem stop).
