In summer, the region invites you to go hiking or biking in the nearby Dolomites or on the famous Alpe di Siusi (Alpe di Siusi). In the winter season, many great ski resorts can be explored. In addition to the Alpe di Siusi, the Sellaronda ski area with state-of-the-art lifts can be reached in 40 minutes by car (22 km). The area also offers fantastic cross-country ski trails and toboggan runs. South Tyrol's beautiful capital city of Bolzano (Bozen) is 45 minutes by car or 40 km southwest of Ortisei (Sankt Ulrich).
