Our cottage is a base camp from which to enjoy the beauty of the north woods. Plan your winter to snowmobile, ice fish, downhill or cross-country ski and hike. In summer make it a get-a-way for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, or ATVing. Venture out to the numerous waterfalls, hike the Ottawa National Forest or Sylvania Wilderness, view the scenic Porcupine Mountains, drive through the Keweenaw peninsula. Autumn is the time to take fall color tours, ATV, & hunt. Slow internet - high speed coming The space We thank our previous guests for maintaining and leaving our home in such good condition! We appreciate your respect of the property while still enjoying your surroundings. Guest access The whole house and yard. Although there is a garage on the premises, it is not available to guests. Other things to note Our cottage is centrally located among the area's sights, activities and attractions for every season of the year! 1. Snowmobile: Two major snowmobile trails intersect at Watersmeet. There are endless riding destinations from here. 2. Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing: Outfittters in the area rent gear 3. Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding: Ski Brule Mountain, Big Powderhorn, or Indianhead Ski resorts are within 45 minutes away. Opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. 4. Boating, Fishing & Swimming: Lakes and rivers abound, providing great fishing for walleye, northern, musky, bass, perch. It is a boaters’ paradise including miles of shoreline to canoe and kayak. 5. ATV: The east/west trail connects with the Marenisco and Iron River trails, wide and in great shape since it serves as a winter snowmobile trail. 6. Cycle, hike, as well as mountain bike meandering forest trails as Agonikak National Trail beginning in Watersmeet, Epic Trail in Copper Harbor 7. Hunting: The Ottawa National Forest offers hundreds of thousands acres for a variety of hunting opportunities ranging from small game to large animals. 8. Waterfalls and Scenic Drives Tour the waterfalls nearby: Bond Falls, Meximine (Burned Dam) Falls, Kakabika Falls and Agate Falls • Black River Scenic Byway takes you along the cascading Black River on a waterfall exploration. • Munising, surrounded by many waterfalls, leads to Pictured Rocks • Keewanau Peninsula offers quaint harbor towns, 10 light houses to tour, waterfalls, views from Brockway Mountain, scuba diving shipwrecks in the Lake Superior underwater preserve 9. National & State Parks: • Ottawa National Forest offers a beautiful landscape of lakes, rivers and waterfalls • Sylvania Wilderness preserves acres of virgin forest and pristine lakes that we are privileged to camp, hike, fish, kayak & canoe, cross-country ski & snowshoe • Porcupine Mountains State Park near the Lake Superior shore line, well-worn mountains, and scenic waterfalls. • Pictured Rock National Lakeshore
