If you are sensitive to noise this property may not be the best fit, as activity from the upstairs unit can often be heard from below depending on the dynamics of the group staying upstairs. This property has an Alaska themed mural on the bottom level, which is the concrete block foundation. The cabin was built in 1964 and it was raised in 1978 when a concrete slab was poured and block foundation installed creating a gift shop where tour buses would bring people on their way to and from the sites. Later the lower level housed "the bike shop". When the bike shop outgrew the space, it was converted to a two-bedroom dwelling unit, but we decided to retain the mural which features a malamute which was owned by the local librarian. Girdwood Town Center There is a free shuttle service called Glacier Valley Shuttle in the summer. We don't know of anything scheduled in the winter. People often get a taxi from Anchorage. I would recommend contacting the taxi company for pricing first and doing the same if you want to try Uber or Lyft. To ride the free shuttle service of Glacier Valley Shuttle turn left out of the driveway and the left on Donner Drive. Catch the shuttle at Donner Drive and Alyeska Highway or cross the street for the bus if you want to go to Alyeska Resort Daylodge or hotel.
