HOUSE OF ARCHES: 56 m2 with a small garden among olive trees,1 bedroom with double bed (or2 single ones),2 bathrooms, living with a double sofabed (140 cm wide) and kitchenette,WiFi, ideal for 2/4.The house is located in Dosso,a typical spot 4.5 Km far from Levanto,the town named "The Gateway to the Cinque Terre".Dosso is closed to cars (free public park 60 meters from the house to be reached only by foot); NO SHOPS. It's a very relaxing place; but for a confortable stay a car is needed. The space The house is very well equipped with gasfire with electric oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, baby folding bed and chair.It is very nice to relax or have meals in the small garden under the olives' trees! Dogs welcome with a small extra. Only twelve families live in Dosso all year round and some people still take care of the olive trees and the vines and, when the harvest of the year is abundant, oil and wine can be bought directly from them.It is an ideal place for those who love the peace of the countryside but want at the same time to discover the 5 Terre and the beauty of the beaches of Levanto. With only 15 minutes drive you reach Levanto where you can enjoy the seaside with beautiful beaches; there are also shops, boutiques, a cinema, cafés and a large number of restaurants and pizzerias. Every Wednesday there is an open air market market and every day a market of fruit, vegetables and fish. For a more comfortable stay in Dosso it is advisable to have a car. The Cinque Terre can be easily reached by trains leaving from Levanto station and stopping at Monterosso (after 5 minutes), Vernazza (10 minutes), Corniglia (20 minutes), Manarola (25 minutes), Riomaggiore (30 minutes). Wonderful walks connect Levanto with the villages of Cinque Terre and one with the other. From Levanto, in summer, there is also a daily boat service to the Cinque Terre, Portovenere and Portofino. Near Dosso there are also some beautiful walks and in particular we suggest to go hiking from Dosso to Lavaggiorosso and Monte La Rossola as well as the walk Dosso- Foce di Dosso-Bardellone- Soviore - Monterosso. Dosso is an ideal place for jogging and mountain biking and when the sea is rough people can surf. In Levanto you have to taste the local specialties that are, apart from fish, the salty rice cake, pasta with "pesto", fried bread, rabbit, and especially the "gattafin" (large fried ravioli filled with vegetables). In summer there are special events: classical music concerts, antique markets and crafts, fireworks (July 25) and religious processions (August 16), tennis tournaments, ecc. Other famous attractions, which can be easily reached from Dosso by train, ferry or car, are the coastal towns Portovenere, Lerici and Tellaro in the Poets Golf of La Spezia, Portofino and Santa Margherita and still the village of Varese Ligure in the valley of Vara. Spend a relaxing day in the thermal baths of Montecatini (128 km away), explore the marble quarries of Carrara (around 50 km away), or visit the Lunigiana Valley with its 100 castles (around 50 km away).
