Surrounded by spectacular scenery, privacy and quiet, the Tree House is the ideal place to start your adventure exploring the riches of MDI and Acadia. The house is perched up high with limited views of Western Way and Cranberry Island from the deck. Relax to the endless chatter of birds and the sounds of boats traveling by. Walk to the oceans edge. Perfect place for two to rekindle and relax. ** The only entrance is via exterior spiral staircase as pictured in photos. ** In addition to easy access to Acadia National Park, you can walk to the top of the driveway for lunch or dinner at Charlotte's Legendary Lobster Pound. Eat at Charlotte's or bring it back and enjoy dinner on the deck above the trees. The free Island Explorer Bus goes right past our driveway. Although we are not a stop, you can hale the bus and it will stop for pick up and you can ask the driver to stop to let you off. The busses are fitted with bike racks on the back and front. You can enjoy the entire island with no worries about parking! Wonderland and Ship Harbor trails are located within about one mile of the house. The Acadia Mountain trail head is about 10 minutes away. The Cadillac Mountain entrance is about 25 minutes away as is downtown Bar Harbor. The "Quietside" town of Southwest Harbor has great restaurants and cute shops. We have several full service grocery options.
