This former summer cottage has been transformed into an artistic year round home on Reichard's Lake, 15 minutes east of Albany, close to Troy & the Crooked Lake House. Beautiful views of Reichard's Lake are available from the dock, front porch, yard and living areas within the house. There is a full bath and an open living room/ dining room/ kitchen with wood stove insert in a brick fireplace on the first floor, along with an additional living room, and an office with a pullout futon overlooking the lake. that can be used as a fifth bedroom. The second floor has four bedrooms, two of which overlook the lake. There is also a large TV room with a large selection of children's games and toys to enjoy, along with a half bath. Upstairs can sleep 8. The yard has a perennial garden with vintage metal chairs and chaise lounge, flagstone patio, picnic table and bar- b- que area all with lake views. There is a tree house in the woods behind the house and a ping pong table in the basement for additional fun. The house can easily accommodate young children and includes a porta crib and a booster seat for the table. Guests will have access to the entire property with swimming and boating (use of canoe and kayak included) from the private dock on Reichard's Lake in summer, and ice fishing and skating in the winter. Lakefront is across quiet Algonquin Road from house and is enclosed and fenced for privacy and safety. Downhill skiing at Jiminy Peak is one half hour from house as is the Clark Art Institute, MASS MOCA and other Berkshire cultural attractions. We will not be onsite, but we or our representative will be available to address any questions regarding the property. Living on a lake and enjoying sunrises from the porch or dock overlooking the water is a treat. The village of West Sand Lake is less than a mile from the house and has a grocery store, drugstore, post office and other services. Numerous restaurants are nearby. This home has a rural feel, but is only fifteen minutes to the state capital of Albany or the charming nineteenth century city of Troy. Saratoga, the Berkshires, Cooperstown and Hudson are all within an hour's drive. Crooked Lake House, a local venue, hosts numerous weddings and special events and is ten minutes from the house. There is no public transportation in town, but taxi service is available to and from the Amtrak station that is fifteen minutes from the house. Uber is also available. This is an informal lakefront cottage with many artistic details. Family friendly and relaxed. Large library to enjoy. We are looking to rent during the time period of January 1, 2024 - April 1, 2024 for a minimum of sixty days.
