Waterfront cottage close to downtown Kingston.

We welcome our guests to our cozy and pet friendly waterfront cottage, Rube's Retreat. Enjoy the beauty of cottage living, very close to City Hall, downtown Kingston. Rube's Retreat is a great place to be, whether it's with your family, friends or a business trip, we have everything you need to make your getaway a most memorable experience. The space Small, cute and peaceful, this is how I describe Rube's Retreat. The view from the living room and kitchen overlooking the magnificent St. Lawrence River, with the windmills of Wolfe Island in the distance, is to me, absolutely stunning. Enjoy the beauty of nature when you walk down the waterfront trail or breathe in the fresh air and observe the wonderful sounds of nature while relaxing on our beautiful new dock. Please note we have a small living room. I love it because of the windows and view, but some guests noted they felt the living room and couch were too small. Due to the comments about our living room and couch, I do want to let you know we have a living room on the smaller side, full of windows and a beautiful view. We also do not have a big, poofy couch to sleep on, we have a love seat and single comfortable chairs to sit on. Guest access You can access all areas of the cottage, except our basement. You can walk right down to the waterfront from Rube's Retreat, only steps away from the cottage. Other things to note *Please specify the EXACT number of people, adults and children, as well as pets when booking your stay at Rube’s Retreat, as there is an extra charge of $25 per person per night for anyone booking over 2 people. *Although we are a cottage, we do not have a firepit, as local laws require the permit owner to be on site when using the firepit. Due to this local law, we unfortunately had to discontinue the use of our firepit. *A 5 % municipal accommodation tax will be applied to your nightly fee. The Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) is a mandatory tax for visitors staying in hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts or short-term rentals. Visitors staying in these accommodations for 30 days or less will have a 5% MAT rate added. This rate applies only to the accommodation fee.
