State of Md charges an occupancy tax on reservations of less than 120 day The space One block from Potomac River and Breton Bay on Colton's Point in historic Southern Maryland, St. Mary's County. Lovely rural area of farms and larger homesteads within 18 miles of restaurants and concentrated/chain store shopping in Lexington Park, Md. Some stores closer in Leonardtown and Chaptico, very close gas stations and convenience stores. Newly remodeled certified lead-free home with 2Bedroom 2 full bath and work space in modern home on dead end road w/ over an acre of fenced yard, 1900 sqft furnished home in rural historic Southern Maryland. One block walk to the river and public fishing pier. Museums water taxi to St. Clements Island for park with lighthouse, picnicking, dock and swimming cove spring through fall. Museum events. Public pier at the museum with fishing & 2 hour boat docking during daylight hours. One block. Two local marinas with public boat ramps. Small food stores with gas & liquor nearby. Local pub with food and weekend entertainment. Larger shopping in Leonardtown.The largest local town of Lexington Park has big box stores and many restaurants, and Waldorf is 30 miles away. ST. CLEMENTS MUSEUM CALENDAR OF EVENTS- check website. July - second Saturday - JAZZ AND SEAFOOD FESTIVAL with vendors and outdoor jazz stage; well known performers. Early October: Blessing of the Fleet - vendors and carnival Usually one weekend activity per month during spring & summer. Other local festivals and concerts. Guest access The home is furnished with kitchen supplies, linens, and more. Carport parking as well as additional paved space outside in front of the small cottage on the property. (cottage may be rented during your stay, but the main house and driveway is private to you.) Acre+ with 6ft fence and locking gates. The road is private except for the side road to the museum parking which is used for weekend events, but otherwise closed off to traffic. We have regular mowing company and we take care of the landscaping and trash pickup. Other things to note The house is on a well and septic system. The water is not chlorinated. There can be standing water in some areas of the yard as we’re close to the river. There are wild rabbits living behind the fence who visit the lawn to graze, and a herd of local deer who pass through occasionally. There are also ospreys and bald eagles nesting in the area, lots of fish in the river and fishing from the public pier a block away, with a Md. license. Beaches and boat ramps are private except in the parks: St. Clements Island beach and Newtown Neck State Park beach, both are small wild beaches, with no development nearby. New town Neck beach is public about a 12 mile drive.
