The space This unique retreat opens to a private garden with a personal and private hot tub. You have AMAZING views at this high altitude of the entire Bay Area cityscape, SF to Gilroy! Our view is unrivaled by any other Bay Area Airbnb, day or night! The Sanctuary features: stainless steel kitchenette with 2 burner stove top, large flat screen TV, cable and fast internet, modern insulation and air conditioning system for your comfort. To relax, a Japanese wooden soaking tub is in the unit along with custom bath salts for your enjoyment. A floor to ceiling slate bathroom is behind a barn door, a yoga swing is installed from the barn rafters for your use, lavish spa products, snacks and beverages are also complimentary with this unit rental. Outside, the Sanctuary hot tub and private garden enjoy this view while a privacy fence blocks the view of our home or the other rental below. Sanctuary has separate parking area and is not near our family's residence or the Cabana which is our other Airbnb rental unit. Only the outdoor pool is shared with the Cabana rental unit in front of it. And you would pass our home to get to the pool. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the private pool, hot-tub, and landscaped areas around the cabana, including koi pond with waterfall and sitting area, goats, 3 friendly Pyrenees guard dogs protect our livestock. Hiking and Biking Trails all nearby, miles and miles of natural forest. After September 2017, access to Mt. Umunhum will open for the first time in decades, which will provide 360 degrees of unobstructed views of the area. Discover the mining history of the Almaden Quicksilver area, with it's blue/green rocks, many natural springs/streams, old lime kilns, and old abandoned mines. Visit the New Almaden Quicksilver Museum. Other things to note Some of the last mile up to the property is a maintained unpaved road. It can be dusty in summer and muddy in winter, but it's perfectly accessible to any vehicle (does not require 4WD). Probably not ideal if you have a super-low sports car. Breakfast is offered for an additional fee. Please contact us for details, and let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you would like us to serve breakfast. Our property is in a secluded, private area. Please clear with us in advance anyone else that might be arriving other than the booked guests. There are wild peacocks on the mountain. The males can be loud at times during the mating season, between March/April and June/July. The outdoor pool is not heated. We also cover it during the rainy/windy season to protect the water quality. The listing price includes 8% Transient Occupancy Tax that we have to collect for the county of Santa Clara.
