The Caboose at Dutch Creek Retreat

Stay in the Original Athens County Vintage C&O Caboose in the heart of the Southeastern Ohio countryside. Interior has been fully renovated complete with kitchenette and small bathroom with shower. Just 11 miles from Athens & Ohio University and a 1/2 mile from Dutch Creek Winery. Perfect to unplug and unwind for a weekend getaway or honeymoon stay. The space There is internet and wifi calling for cell phone calls available. Guests are also welcome to use the wifi at our winery, Dutch Creek Winery, which is only 1/2 mile from the Caboose. As this is an actual caboose, the ceiling height at either end is 6'. Kitchenette is equipped with a small stove/oven, microwave, small refrigerator w/ freezer, sink, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, cups, silverware, pots, pans and baking sheets. There is a tv monitor with an HDMI cable for hook up to a laptop for streaming. There is 1 bed that is a pullout futon with sheets and pillows provided. A.C unit and base board heat available for your comfort. Guest access You will have full access to the caboose and the outside area of the caboose where there is a picnic table, chairs, and a fire ring. There is also a pond close by which you may fish at, we just ask that you please use the catch and release policy. Park on the gravel area at the front end of the caboose by the road. Please do not pull farther up along side of the caboose. ABSOLUTELY NO CLIMBING ON THE CABOOSE OR BEING ON TOP OF THE CABOOSE. Other things to note The Caboose has air conditioning and heat. When you stay at The Caboose we provide linens and pillows for the futon bed. A set of bath, hand, and wash towels are also provided for each guest. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glassware, silverware, pots and pans, dish soap, and trash bags. The kitchenette includes a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, mini fridge/freezer, and stove with an oven. The Caboose has internet and cell phones will work if wifi calling is turn on in the phone’s settings. A monitor display is available for use with a laptop for streaming. HDMI cable is provided. Guests are also welcome to use the wifi available at the winery that is 1/2 mile from the Caboose. Park on the gravel area at the front end of the caboose by the road.
