Rocky Face Retreat is far enough from the hustle-and-bustle to kick back and relax, yet only 8 miles to Dalton and only 25 miles to Chattanooga to be able to enjoy the city life. As your safety and comfort is our first priority, your suite is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each guest visit according to CDC regulations. Guests have private access to their yard off their garage that includes a picnic table to enjoy during any season. This is the perfect space to have your morning coffee, or just relax and visit. During the cooler months roast your chestnuts , toast your marshmallows or your s’mores around the private fire pit surrounded by four Adirondack chairs. As we do live on premises, we ask that you do not enter any other building or structure other than your suite. This would include our home, garage, shed and barn. At the top of the hill we do have a barn with an apartment above it that is a separate residence. We ask that you respect their privacy and do not go up to that area. We live on premises, but completely respect your privacy. Please limit your activity to your guest suite and your personal side yard area adjacent to your garage. However, we are very attentive hosts and are just an Airbnb message or a text away for any needs you may have. We have only received three ratings less than a 5 Star in one area since we opened. That was for LOCATION! 🤷‍♂️ We make it very clear that we are in a RURAL area. The closest convenience store is 3 miles away. The closest grocery store is about 6 miles away. If you’re looking for a lovely country setting, we are the place for you! But if you don’t like the country, there are some lovely Airbnbs in town. 😊 We are only 8 miles from I-75, and the historic city of Dalton. Only 25 miles from Chattanooga, and 85 miles to Atlanta. Also, we are just over an hour from gorgeous Cloudland Canyon State Park. Known for its scenic hiking trails and breathtaking views of 2 of Georgia’s most beautiful waterfalls. Year-round activities in our area include shopping, golfing, hiking, dining and brewpubs, just to name a few. As we are in a country location there is no public transportation in our area, so you would need your own vehicle to get from place to place. For your parking convenience you have a personal one-car garage that has a private door entering your suite. There is also a concrete parking pad if you prefer. There is to be absolutely NO SMOKING OR VAPING in the guest suite or garage. Your suite is a separate apartment attached to the main house. It is a completely private dwelling with your personal attached garage. There is a second story above your guest suite where our office is located and also where our cats spend the majority of their time. You will undoubtedly hear them playing around on occasions. Also, the apartment is fairly soundproof, but as it is connected to our home you will hear everyday life sounds. We also have two large rescue pups. They are inside, so you will definitely hear them bark occasionally…as dogs do! 🐶 🐶. We do provide a sound machine in both the bedroom and main living area to mask any sounds that you may be sensitive to. Your garage has a key pad and private door entry. The apartment and garage are ground level with no stairs. You have a thermostat in your guest suite to keep your temperature at your desired level. We just ask that when you’re away for any period of time that you lower the heat to 65 degrees and raise the a/c to 74 degrees. As we have the two dogs and an outside cat, we are very strict about your DRIVING SLOW on our driveway for the safety of our fur-babies. 🐶🐶😽 Please note that your guest suite and grounds are to be used and occupied ONLY BY THE NUMBER OF GUESTS listed on your reservation. NO VISITORS are allowed to come during your stay.
