Exotic Library in White Barn artist's home
The White Barn Exotic Library is one of two rooms available in the White Barn (See Splended Sunroom). The morning light from the East comes in the floor to ceiling entire wall of glass, illuminating the garden and field outside. The terra cotta red interior consists of two walls of ceiling to floor bookcases, giving the room a cozy and warm feeling. Masks, textiles and other treasures from my travels decorate the room. The Library is directly off the shared common area kitchen and bathroom. The space Summer guests can sit outside with their coffee or tea under the grape arbor pergola to watch the birds and butterflies in the garden, or watch the sunset on the western-facing porch. Breakfast is available in the morning. Any questions you might have on hiking, swimming, etc. I can answer as a 35 year resident of the area. Guest access Guests can use the kitchen for cooking and/or using the wifi at the kitchen table. When the weather is fine, there are two outdoor decks with chaise lounges and Adirondack chairs for looking at the garden, fields, and trees. If guests would like an art lesson(s), then my upstairs studio would be held there. ($35.00 an hour). Also there are chairs out on the lawn for the guests to enjoy. During your stay I will be available to help you with any needs you might have: directions, what to do, what's going on locally, where to eat, etc. Even though my private living room and bedroom are on the same floor as the Library and Sunroom, I won't be hovering over guests. Actually, I will be upstairs in my studio or outside in the garden. BTW, guests can come and depart on their own schedules. Just tell me when it is most convenient for you to arrive, and I will have your space ready for you. Also, there is no problem with arrivals at any time of the night. Other things to note Being a rural area, wifi is an iffy commodity outside the house. So it is a good idea to print out or keep a screen grab of the route you will take to get here. For every guest I send a detailed verbal map to navigate the small country roads around here, once you leave the major roads on your route. I also have a map of the area for guests that shows where to eat and where the entertainment and sports are found.
