Description
Situated right on the state line this studio apartment is nestled in its own little corner of the gorgeous Colestine Valley. We're located on 80 acres that adjoin the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument to the north, perfect for a scenic hike or a casual stroll. Nature and wildlife abound, and though quiet and private the Loft is just five minutes off I-5 and 25 minutes from unique downtown Ashland. We're pet friendly and have an outdoor pool! See the House Rules for details on pet and pool fees. The space This second-story Loft is over 750 square feet with a spacious, open floor plan. French doors, wide windows, and twin skylights provide plenty of warm, natural light that complements the oak floors, and there is a long, south-facing balcony perfect for relaxing, taking in the daytime scenery, or stargazing. The Loft has a full mattress, the couch folds out into another full bed, and there is a double-thick, queen, air mattress available as well. The Loft's efficiency kitchenette is equipped with a coffee maker, and we provide complimentary coffee, creamer, and sugar, as well as a selection of hot teas. There is also an induction hot plate, mini fridge, and microwave, as well as cookware, silverware, plates, bowls, etc. We go with a "take-a-penny-leave-a-penny" approach to the pantry and fridge, so there's usually a random assortment of drinks and dry foods that have been left by previous guests. Please help yourself to anything you'd like! The pool is heated using an eco-friendly, non-electric solar system, meaning the maximum temperature depends on the weather, so use of the pool is seasonal. If you're not sure what the weather will be like during your stay, you're welcome to decide on the pool option once you've arrived and have had a chance to check it out! We have an extensive library of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, graphic novels, travel books, and more, as well as a large stack of board games and a dart board to keep you entertained! There's also a 40" flatscreen and a well stocked shelf of BluRays and DVDs of all kinds from Pixar to the Twilight Zone. And feel free to say hello to our donkey, Opal! You may see her wandering the grounds helping to trim the grass;) She's super friendly and loves meeting new people! Guest access Our guests will have the entire second floor to themselves. There is a single entrance via an outdoor flight of stairs, and the first floor is a rarely-used garage, so guests will not be disturbed by comings and goings. There is plenty of parking right in front of the apartment. Other things to note As we are located in a somewhat secluded area, we'd recommend picking up any groceries or other necessities on your way to the Loft, either in Ashland (if you're coming from the North) or Yreka (if you're coming from the South). We live in a very safe area and have never experienced any form of theft or trespassing. However, we fully understand the need for security and privacy, so because the door to the apartment does not have its own lock on the outside (it does lock from the inside), we have equipped it with a stout chain and padlock so guests can feel secure when away from the Loft.
