Baxter House is a spacious cabin overlooking Millinocket Lake with a full kitchen, bathroom, and year-round comfort from a heat pump with A/C. It has three bedrooms: one with a double and two singles, one with two singles and two bunk sets, and one with a double and a bunk plus access to a private open-air porch. The front room includes a set of bunk beds, and the sunroom offers extra sleeping with a double futon. WiFi included. No pets allowed. Just 8 miles from Baxter State Park. The space Big Moose Inn blends friendly service with the beauty of Millinocket Lake, just 8 miles from Baxter State Park. Stay in inn rooms, suites, cabins, or campgrounds and enjoy canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals, rafting with Northern Outdoors, and guided wildlife pontoon tours with our registered Maine Guide. On site, Fredericka’s Restaurant and the Loose Moose Bar & Grille are open Wednesday through Sunday from 5 to 9 pm. Quiet hours begin at 10 pm with music ending at 9 pm. Guest access Guests have private use of their cabin and are welcome to enjoy the property’s shared spaces. Inside the inn there is a cozy sitting area with couches and games, and a screened-in porch overlooking the grounds. Outdoors, guests can walk the property and make use of the volleyball court and horseshoes. Canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals are available, and our registered Maine Guide offers seasonal wildlife pontoon tours. Other things to note We are located just 8 miles from Baxter State Park, the main gateway to Mount Katahdin and the North Maine Woods.
