Cozy Four-Season Lakefront Cabin

Private getaway in Chalk River on quiet Corry Lake. No neighbours in sight. Canoe, paddle board, swim, hike in the beautiful forest right next door, sit on the covered porch with lake view, roast marshmallows around the fire pit, or cook your favorite meals in our fully equipped kitchen :) Can work from home with WIFI and cell reception! Fully equipped for all year round. 8 people can fit comfortably (but rooms small).Semi-secluded location. 20 mins to nearest town. Check out online guidebook. The space The Ultimate Getaway! Comfortable all seasons. Fully equipped. The cottage was a rustic hunting cabin built in 1939 but has had many upgrades throughout the years. Its surrounding 100 ft trees and forest provides privacy. Four bedrooms (one large bedroom with a queen, one medium bedroom with a double bed, and two small bedrooms each with a double bed) but lots of flexibility with a pull-out couch also. Internet/WIFI, DVD player, and Smart TV (you can login to your Netflix or Prime Account etc). We have a brand new kitchen fully stocked with a gas stove-top, excellent for hosting. There are 2 full-sized newly renovated bathrooms, one on the main floor and one upstairs. The main bathroom has a custom stand-up shower with tiled slate flooring, while the upstairs bath contains a rectangular soaker tub and shower. Lots of additional features such as wood burning fireplace, shed for easy wood transfer (winter), high efficiency furnace with a 'nest' thermostat, 'nest' outdoor security, clean tap water (safe to drink) from an underground well, BBQ, microwave, outdoor fire pit, and a "Thunderbird" totem pole (stanley park Vancouver replica). A 3 minute drive to nearest convenience store/gas station. A 20 min drive W to the town of Deep River which has a small grocery store (Value Mart), beer store, liquor store, Tim Hortons, Burger King, Subway, Pizza, Chinese food, and a couple of great ‘very local’ restaurants: Bears Den and Santa Fe. It’s also 20 min drive E in the other direction to Petawawa which has a Boston Pizza, Kelseys, Starbucks, Shawarma, Mexican, Sushi etc. The cottage is right next door to the Petawawa Research Forest which has hundreds of beautiful trails throughout. Private and great for walking, snowshoeing or snowmobiling in winter. Pets will love it! You can drive your snowmobile from the house since we are so close to the trails! Near golf course and a small ski hill (Deep River). On your arrival there will be a house manual with lots of information about the cottage and the area :) Guest access Entire house. Includes dishes, soap, all linens and towels. No need to bring anything besides personal belongings, food, drinks, and firewood for the outdoor fire pit. In the winter we will provide 2 sets of adult snowshoes for your use :) In the summer you are are welcome to use our canoe, paddles, and life jackets as well as our Stand up Paddle board :) Feel free to bring your own boat also! There’s is a public beach access/boat launch just across from the cottage and you can tie it to our dock. You will have a full sized fridge and a small drinks fridge. Lots of space for your food and drinks! Price includes cleaning, and 2 guests. The cost for additional guests is $20 per guest per night. Other things to note 1. We are located near an army base. At times during the year, training is ongoing and you may hear loud sounds. 2. The cottage is surrounded by trees but we are approx a 5 min drive to hwy 17. You may sometimes hear highway traffic in the distance. 3. Waterfront area is slightly weedy and silty in parts. Its a good idea to bring water shoes. Great for kids with shallow water around the dock.
