Edenhart Family Orchard Barnhouse
Description
Edenhart Orchard is a splendid 1850s historic barn repurposed as a rustic summer guest house in the 1960s. Family owned and situated on a 1700s homestead, you can pick heritage apples in a 100% organic orchard, enjoy our fields & forest, pick wild blueberries, and sight deer & wild turkey. Lots to do around Cherryfield: hike the Sunrise Trail, shop for antiques, take a short drive to lake or coast for swiming/boating/fishing. Only one hour to Acadia NP. A great base for exploring Downeast Maine! The space If you enjoy the appeal of rusticity, know that you will be staying in a 1800s barn. It is quite comfortable, but this does mean there is no heating/AC and you may have the occasional moth or mosquito encounter. However, if you didn't like the outdoors and nature, you wouldn't have come to Downeast Maine! Guest access Guests enter private driveway. There is ample parking in the driveway. Barn is clearly visible down the hill from the main house. Washer/dryer located in the family garage and access will be permitted on request. Fields and forest open for exploring! Other things to note Feel free to bring your camera, hiking shoes, bikes, canoes and kayaks! Pick up your fishing license in the town office and check out our local lakes. Explore Cherryfield's walkable historic district and photograph the vistas of the rocky shoreline in McClellan Park (9 miles away). Hike or bike along the Narraguagus River (0.25 mile away). Canoe, kayak and swim in Tunk Lake, Long Pond, or Spring River Lake (6-8 miles away). Book a boat tour from the Milbridge Town Dock (7 miles away). Take a chance to cook your own fresh lobsters and clams or bake a blueberry pie. Not a cook? We'll advise you where to find the best lobster roll!
