River Dog Retreat- Kernville

NEWLY RENOVATED FOR 2025! If you want a river escape you can't get any closer than this. This large and spacious 3 Bedroom 3.5 bath gated home sits directly on the Kern River and has its own private river access. Enjoy an afternoon swim, or sip on a glass of wine as you watch the sunset bounce off the mountains of Sequoia National Forrest before retiring to the large 400+ square foot covered patio or basement saloon. The space "Relaxing and Spacious," with "Incredible panoramic views" is how our guests have described the RDR. It's nestled in an incredibly quiet and peaceful neighborhood and is built for relaxing. This is the perfect home for any type of celebration, but not for a "party". We love keeping things calm and serene around here, so super loud music isn’t our jam at any time of day. The neighbors are super sweet but might give me a ring if things get too lively, and I’d hate to interrupt your fun with a call. 😄 No worries, though—if you keep the tunes at a chill level, you’re in for an absolutely amazing and relaxing time! Thanks for being awesome, and we can’t wait for you to enjoy your stay! 🎉 The home is most comfortable for 6 guests. We will allow up to two (2) additional persons with prior permission, (to stay on the upstairs couch and the downstairs futon. Couch bedding is not provided so we recommend bringing sleeping bags.) We need to stay strict with these numbers as our septic system is sensitive. We DO NOT charge for the extra guests, but we must be notified prior to your arrival. Thank you for your respect. We do not allow RV parking in the driveway. There is a driveway camera in place which monitors the number of people coming and going. Thank you for respecting our rules. Guest access Privacy is what you get. You'll have access to the entire, gated property and your own private and personal access to the river, not shared by anyone else. There are multiple tiered patios both covered and uncovered to enjoy during any time of year. Other things to note As the name says, we are pet-friendly to well-behaved and potty-trained dogs. No more than two. Dogs MUST be potty trained and guests take full responsibility for cleaning up after their pets. Your attention to the rules will help us continue to allow pets. We charge an additional $150 per stay, per pet, cleaning fee. Again, we do have a google camera facing the driveway, so we will know if there are dogs being "snuck in." Please just be transparent.
