The interior of this unique home offers 25-foot cathedral ceilings of open living space, three sliders to a deck, and another authentic stone patio with softly lit bistro lighting for your enjoyment and comfort, where you can rest, spend your days on the river, soak in the essence of wildlife, and enjoy outdoor dining at one of our many seating areas all by the river. Sit by the fire pit during cool spring, summer, and fall evenings, or enjoy our indoor gas fireplace with the click of a button in the cold winter months. Our renovated 1859 cottage is located on a small street, and once you step into the back of the house, you will find it very private and peaceful. Our home has an open floor plan that allows you to take in the soothing tidal river views from every area. This cozy, spacious home also offers multiple indoor sitting areas overlooking the peaceful Cove. There is a convenient half bathroom on the first level and a spacious full bathroom off the bedroom on the 2nd level, which has a large open glass walk-in shower and rainshower head and is fully stocked with plenty of towels, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The bedroom offers a queen-size bed, a remarkably comfortable Tempur-Pedic mattress, organic bedding sheets/duvet/blankets, a cloud-like mattress topper, and comfy pillows for a fantastic night's sleep. It also has a bureau with six drawers, a shoe caddy, a spacious closet, and two chairs in front of the sliders to enjoy the scenery from the second level. The queen-size sofa bed is on the first level and is large enough to sleep on top w/out pulling it out There is a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, toaster, microwave, teapot, carafe coffee maker, Keurig mini, pots/pans, cookie sheets, outdoor grill/utensils, grill mitt, plenty of silverware, mixing bowls, salad platter, charcuterie board, various size cutting boards, appetizer ware, ice cream scoop, cheese slicers, wine glasses/opener, spices, salt/pepper, olive oil, etc Remote Workers: Work remotely in this comfortable, quiet space. It has excellent Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets to work anywhere, inside or out. You will find a wood firepit, Weber BBQ grill, plenty of patio space, two kayaks for guests' use, lots of board games, outdoor bocci ball, and cozy areas inside and out where you can connect with your loved ones or relax singlehandedly away from the world's chaos... This home also has two quiet mini-splits for your convenience and comfort. What to do: In the summertime, grab a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage/snack and sit outside in any one of the comfortable spaces and enjoy a peaceful, restful morning watching the fantastic, wide variety of wildlife, or do a little fishing, sunbathing and swimming, right from your dock. You can also grab a kayak and paddle out to the Connecticut River. There is a Marina within a 2-minute drive where you can rent a craft if you prefer not to kayak. There is a grocery store at Old Lyme Plaza, a 12-minute drive. There are several restaurants, beaches, museums, tourist areas, and parks within proximity (a 3-12 minute drive) listed in our guidebook. Enjoy the many outdoor cafes/restaurants on the Ct shoreline - Lyme, Essex, Chester, Hadlyme, Old Lyme, Niantic, Old Saybrook, and Mystic Ct. Hartman Park Woodbridge Woodlands, Young and Beebe Preserve Loop is a 6.1-mile moderately trafficked loop trail near Old Lyme Ct. that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips and is best used from March until November. Nayantaquit Trail is a 4.4-mile moderately trafficked loop trail near Old Lyme Ct that features beautiful wildflowers and is rated as moderate.
