About Hilltop Cottage: The setting is serene. The cottage is located 2 miles east of Blue Hill village on 3 acres off a quiet road. Entering from the driveway, one walks into a shotgun kitchen replete with all the essentials for Downeast cooking. Continue through to the dinning room, which leads off to the expansive back deck. Adjacent to the kitchen is a queen bedroom with a ¾ bath (toilet, sink, and shower) that serves as the downstairs bathroom during the day. (more below) The space Move through the house to the comfortable living room. The front porch provides lovely evening views over the field. In the rear of the first floor is the laundry room, owner’s closet and the stairway to the basement. Upstairs are three more bedrooms: two singles and a king as well as a full bathroom and laundry closet. The house comes equipped with all of the conveniences you'll need for a pleasant holiday. DSL wireless and a smart television with a DVD player are included. This is a lovely home to relax in with family and friends and a great entertaining platform. About Blue Hill: Blue Hill lies out of the Downeast tourist fray, off the busy transit between Camden and Bar Harbor. It is a unique little village as it has so many amenities, but remains unhurried. Weekly recitals, lecture series, Golf, tennis, and hiking abound. There are many outstanding local restaurants. The 'Big Town' of Ellsworth lies 10 miles east if you get the hankering for a burger and a movie on a rainy afternoon. Acadia National Park is just 50 minutes away replete with all of its splendors; if you come, don't miss it! Basically, you're vacationing in a picture postcard. The folks are kind and helpful and the tenor of the place is very low-key. The sailing is spectacular. Two private clubs provide tennis, sailing and golf if you have an introduction by a member. Otherwise public courts and courses are nearby. Once you've seen Blue Hill, you'll know you've reached the end of the rainbow! x Other things to note Driveway has room for 2 cars. Additional parking across the street for 2 more vehicles. Small barn on edge of property is not for use of guests. Caretaker available for assistance.
