Situated at the top of the picturesque village of Runswick Bay and offering secluded gardens and parking, this delightful detached holiday cottage enjoys views across the cliff tops down to the sea. A tumble of pretty little cottages, almost clinging to the cliffs, leads down to the wide sandy beach at the bottom of the bay, surrounded and sheltered by the rugged cliff line. Cliff top walks afford breathtaking views across the North Yorkshire coastline as far as the historic port of Whitby, known for its connections with Captain James Cook and the novel of Dracula, written by Bram Stoker. Dracula was published in 1897 with many of the early chapters recognisably set in Whitby - the various sites including Tate Hill Sands, the abbey, the church and its steps, the graveyard and Stoker’s house which have all become huge tourist attractions and are well worth a visit. The Captain Cook Memorial Museum and the Whitby Lifeboat Museum are also of interest. The North Yorkshire Moors National Railway can be boarded to discover the delights and beauty of the Esk Valley, travelling through Heartbeat’s very own village of Aidensfield. This truly is an ideal location for exploring Yorkshire’s Heritage coastline with Whitby just 9 miles and Filey and Bridlington a little further. Scarborough is also located on this coastline and is the oldest resort in the country, offering Scarborough Castle, just east of the town centre and between two golden sandy bays, many interesting museums and of course the bays with many amusements, Sea Life Centre, cruises and boat trips. The beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors National Parks await exploration, with pretty little villages such as Lealholm, Rosedale, Egton, Danby and Castleton tucked away in the valleys. Shop 1½ miles. Free WiFi Can comfortably fit up to 6 people
