Located about an hour from Portland at Mount Hood’s base, Zigzag Mountain Farm offers 50 acres of meadows and forest, bordering a national forest. Camp in your own tent, van, or camper; stay in one of eight yurts, a rent-a-tent, the original two-bedroom homestead cabin, or our tiny house. The farm has an organic garden, communal campfire circle, picnic areas, a campers’ kitchen in a converted city bus, outdoor seating with BBQs, a kids’ play structure, hiking trails, and a year-round creek. The space This yurt is furnished with one double bed and a bunk bed. We have multiple family yurts on the property, so interior color and design may vary slightly. Please bring your own sleeping bags or sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels. They have electricity for lights and charging devices. No electric heaters or appliances(they will trip the fuse). If you need linens or towels, we offer rentals for $10 per bed and $3 per towel. The yurts have heat included during non-summer months. Heat is available for $10/night (plus lodging tax) during the summer season (June 15 – September 15). We have 8 yurts for rent. If this yurt is booked, please check our other yurts on Airbnb, including a family yurt, a dorm-style yurt with two sets of bunk beds, and a yurt with a queen bed. Guest access KITCHEN AND AMENITIES: Our campers' kitchen, in a converted city bus, has a sink and four stove-top burners. Please bring your own pots, pans, plates, cutlery, and a refillable water bottle — think camping! Refrigeration is available but limited, so it’s best to bring your own cooler and ice. We have two communal BBQ areas with propane provided. We provide cleaning supplies and sanitizers so guests can clean before and after using shared spaces, in addition to our routine cleaning. Please pack it in, pack it out (except for compost — we’ll use that for our organic garden). BATHROOMS: Bathrooms are shared and have hot water, and showers are available. Please note that, being on a mountain, water pressure and temperature can occasionally vary. There is also a pit toilet on site. WIFI: Wifi is available on the deck at the Red House (not in the yurts!). OUTDOORS: Enjoy our 50 acres of forests and meadows, a year-round creek, and a one-mile hiking trail loop right on the property. We’re also close to many other beautiful hiking trails in the area. CAMPFIRE POLICY: We have one big communal campfire pit near the Red House and provide firewood. For fire safety, individual fire pits are not allowed on the meadows or in the forest. During fire bans, we use a propane fire pit. Propane campfire rings are available to rent. S'mores kits with marshmallow, chocolate, and graham crackers are available for sale. During your stay CHECK-IN DETAILS: Check-in is between 3PM and 10PM. Please register at the Red House with your government-issued ID by ringing the doorbell in the breezeway. We’ll get you checked in and show you around. Our onsite crew is happy to provide local tips and help you get oriented to the property. Other things to note DOG POLICY: Dogs are welcome! Please keep them on a leash at all times and out of the playground and food preparation areas. Dogs must not be left unattended in yurts, the tiny house, the cabin, or our rent-a-tents. They should always be supervised, stay out of restricted areas, and be cleaned up after. Pet fees are $5/day per pet in your tent or van, and $10/day per pet in yurts, rent-a-tents, the tiny house, or the cabin. Please remember we’re not responsible for any lost or stolen personal belongings during your stay, and guests are responsible for any excessive damage or loss caused to the property. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas, and alcohol can be enjoyed casually. Guests under 18 need to be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or adult group leader. To help everyone relax and enjoy the mountain setting, please keep noise down during quiet hours, and no amplified music or loud parties. We also ask everyone to respect fellow guests, keep shared spaces tidy, and drive slowly (5–10 mph) on E. Mountain Drive and on our property.
