Includes two sitting chairs, comfy couch and a flatscreen TV w/ satellite cable + DVD player 50+ DVD library) + many board games. A WOOD-BURNING FIREPLACE with brick hearth and mantle made from a beam salvaged from a nearby barn. BEDROOM 2 Queen Bed and private bath. BEDROOM 3 TWO single beds and enhanced by an All Seasons electric fireplace for soothing ambiance. Full bath just steps away. Bath towels and luxury bedding are provided (please bring your own beach towels). DINING ROOM Huge, locally made table seats 8. Kitchen is well equipped for a group of 8+. SCREENED PORCH Perfect for relaxing, napping, snacking, swilling. You get the idea! OUTDOOR AREA Located at the end of a dead-end country road. LAKE ACCESS w/private dock A private dock is atypical here at Buggs Island Lake. We’re happy to offer privacy! Lake is accessible at back of property. The house does NOT sit right on the lake. It is a few minute walk. The cottage will meet all your needs with extras like complementary snacks, soft-drinks, coffee, tea, gas and charcoal grill, (small bag of charcoal supplied), small stack of firewood. Guests have access to exclusive services: Book a Massage- right in the comfort of the cottage. Guest access The entire house is open to our guests with the exception of the owners closet in the master bedroom and the outside shed. WATER PLAY Kerr Lake is a popular water sports destination with plenty of open water for skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, etc. If you prefer a more relaxing water experience, the cove is the place to be. Swim in the calm waters around the dock or lounge on your float and enjoy the peaceful cove with heron, geese and ducks. BOATING Located on a calm cove, the dock has room for 2 boats. Put your boat in at Longwood, Buffalo or Occoneeche State Park, and check out the marina there for all of your boating needs. KAYAK/CANOE Kayaks/Canoes are available to rent from Cooper’s Landing Inn. Launch at neighboring property “Turtle Cove.” You can paddle to and from their sandy beach or out into the open lake if you're more adventurous. FISHING The crappie, catfish, striper and bass are calling ... It's time to drop a line! Bobcat's Bait & Tackle (4 miles away) has everything you need for a great fishing trip on Kerr Lake. No boat? No problem! Catch your dinner from the dock. The largest catch from the dock so far is an 8-lb catfish. Can you top that? Send us your photos from the dock! ONSHORE FUN If you prefer to stay onshore, the area is surrounded by farms, woods and meadows. You can meander along the water at the cove, explore the 12-acre property or take a long walk on the quiet country road. The land along the shoreline is public property and great for exploring, frog catching and hide-and-go-seek. Great area for bringing bikes or golf-carts too! AREA With buildings dating back to 1889, Clarksville, Virginia has an old-fashioned feel. It's small town friendly with locals who are happy to provide tips about the area. The downtown is just a 10-minute drive or short boat ride. You can tie up your boat at the public dock and explore Virginia's only lakeside town. There are restaurants, a brewery and shops to explore as well as grocery stores and fast food options. Looking for dinner to go? Call ahead - some restaurants will deliver to the dock! Ocaneechi State Park- Hiking/Biking/Boat Launch TRAILS at Ocaneechi State Park About 3.1 miles of walking trails wind through woodlands throughout the park. Two self–guided interpretive trails introduce visitors to the Terrace Garden - Occoneechee Plantation site and the Tutelo Birding-Wildlife Trail. The park also has 20 miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Ample parking in the driveway. Golf carts are welcome. Very close and an easy drive to downtown Clarksville.
