Portnellan offers award-winning self catering accommodations located in the northern region of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, a 90-minute drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Portnellan's holiday lodges and cottages are located 1.2 mi from the village of Crianlarich within a privately owned family estate with the famous Ben More mountain towering above. The location benefits from sensational views across the lochs, mountains and glen. The properties vary in size from 1 to 8 bedrooms and can sleep from 1 to 16 people with fully fitted kitchens, sumptious hotel grade bed mattresses, Egyptian cotton bed linen, towels and soaps. The Portnellan Estate features a selection of traditionally built stone cottages and timber framed lodges overlooking Loch Iubhair (pronounced Ewar), Loch Dochart, Glen Dochart and the surrounding mountains. Open plan living areas lead to large deckings which feature garden furniture to enjoy the stunning true, rugged, Highland landscape all around you. On-site activities and facilities row boats, wild salmon and trout fishing on the estate lochs and river, kayaks, paddle boards and much much more. There is also a games room offering table tennis, pool table and table football. Recently introduced on site is a "BBQ hutte" available to hire that seats up to 16 people. Perfect for all year round, regardless of the weather, real fire BBQing experience for family and friends to enjoy. There is a small visitor's center offering local organic meat and local produce. There is an extensive DVD library, selection of board games and information on local events, activities and attractions. The Heron is a beautifully equipped, bespoke designed 2 bedroom lodge offering warm and cozy accommodations for up to 4 people. Positioned along the South edge of the Portnellan Estate facing West overlooking Glen Dochart and the surrounding mountains with Ben More and Stob Binnein towering above the lodge. The open plan kitchen, living and dining area is equipped with a fully fitted kitchen, dining table with 4 chairs, a comfy sofa and chair. The kitchen offers a fridge with freezer compartment, oven, ceramic hob and a microwave. The lodge is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee machine. Full crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils are all provided. The master bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has 2 full size single beds. There is a sliding patio door that leads to a private West facing balcony with garden furniture where you can sit in peace and tranquility while savoring the truly magical Highland view while watching the red squirrels and birds play tirelessly on the estate feeders and trees. Heron Lodge has also been known to be visited by the Pinemarten that roam the estate. A bathroom with bath and shower over, Scottish Soap Co toiletries and towels are provided. Full Egyptian Cotton bed linen. Hypoallergenic duvets are available upon request. Special features include a flat screen SMART TV with SKY channels and a Blu-ray DVD player. There is free Starlink WiFi, free use of row boats, kayaks as well as paddle board hire is all available. A wee on site visitor shop offers local produce for sale, maps and information on the local area. There is a BBQ hutte available to hire which is fantastic for a real flame BBQ experience with friends and/or family. There is a games room on site with table tennis, pool table, table football and a wee gym.
