Sara's Cottage at Ferns River Retreat

Sitting above the beautiful beach at Monte Rio; this cottage on the river boasts gorgeous views, comfortable amenities, and direct access to the waterfront. Nestled in the heart of Monte Rio; staying here puts you within walking distance to food, groceries, and local attractions. Located just an hour and a half out side downtown San Francisco, your tranquil escape from the city is just a quick ride up Hwy 101. Bring your swimsuit, your bike or your hiking shoes, and unwind by the river. The space Cozy, comfy, and set up for relaxation. We have everything you need to get settled in. In case you do forget to bring anything, we have a decent stock of some staple items, and there is Ferns Grocery store located at the front of the property. The kitchen is set up for all your needs, with a full size refrigerator, full size range and microwave. Also has tea kettle, coffee maker, and basic plates, cups, silverware and other dishes and utensils. This quaint 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage sleeps 4 adults comfortably. With a queen bed, a full sleeper couch or 2 air mattress are available to accommodate 4 total guests. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cottage, two attached decks off of the kitchen and bedroom, as well as use of the backyard and fire pit (When fires are permitted by CalFIRE) Other things to note Please know there is a stair case you need to climb to gain access to the unit. ***At this time we are not able to support any EV charging. The electrical on the exterior of the property is well over 60 years old and we have had constant issues with car chargers tripping the main breaker. We are working to address this issue, and hopefully allow charging in the near future. There are a bank of chargers for public use within 4 miles of the property - near restaurants and shops in the area. ***Please note we are still making flood recovery improvements to the property. The unit is completed, but some exterior/landscaping is still being worked on. No work will be done in or on the cottage during guests stay.
