It has a Walk Score of 98 out of 100. This location is a Walker’s Paradise so no car is required. Super comfortable, quiet and clean.This hardwood floor apt is on the top 3rd floor with intercom access. The window view of the Brooklyn Ave is nice. The space Large clean furnished studio on the 3rd floor facing Brooklyn Ave with a open view which is rare in U District. It has a large private kitchen and bathroom as well as hardwood floor. * It is on the top floor, no one is above you walking, it is an old thick brick building so it is well insulated not that hot in summer or cold in winter. *Equipped kitchen (one review said bring your stuff if you want to cook, that is not true. we have pots and pans, utensils and kitchen wares, stove and microwave) and dining room and full bath (both bath and showers available) with towels and mat. *Furniture include a queen bed, a leather sofa a night stand, new large rug and a floor lamp. *Quiet, conveniently located in the heart of U District. *Free business level building wifi *New Maytag washers and dryers in the building * Controlled secure access. * Easy access to I-5. 10 min to get to down town normally; 20+min in rush hour. Interesting! many tenants have asked me if the building is mostly empty for it is so quiet. On the contrary, it is 95% fully occupied. Due to the good insulation and solid structure, the sound proof is very good. This lovely brick building, originally a classic hotel and a landmark, is in a great location at the heart of the U District but is very quiet due to good management, located between NE 45th and 46th St. on Brooklyn Ave. There are bike and walking paths (You can also rent one of my bikes for $5.00/day or $25/wk and take the Burke Gilman trail to Lake Washington), bus lines, grocery stores (Trader Joe, Safeway), movie theater and restaurants within close distances. Farmer market* is 2 blocks away on the same street. Seattle, the Emerald City, boast some of the nations best mass transportation. Many bus lines just around the corner which only take you 10 seconds to. You can go anywhere in town. Most tenants are quiet graduate student or visiting scholars. Our 500 square feet large studio with private kitchen and bathroom is reasonably priced compared with $400 hotel price per night in summer. Short term Corporation Housing tenants are welcome. The University District Farmers Market is on the Brooklyn Ave NE & NE 50th St, it is Seattle's oldest and largest farmers/food-only neighborhood market. Founded in 1993, this Saturday market is nationally recognized as one of the best farmers markets in the U.S. Over sixty Washington State farmers and artisan food producers offer an excellent selection of seasonal produce, cheeses, eggs, meats, poultry, seafood, baked goods, preserves, market bites (ready-to-eat foods) and more throughout the year. Guest access Laundry room with 6 new Maytag coin operated washers and dryers are in the lower floor level. $1.75 for washer and $1.50 for dryer. Due to its prime location in the center of U District and two large public parking lots are closed. Our 5 spaces split is $15 per day for each space or $200 per month (summer is $200 due to great demands) , please contact me for the parking assignment. Other things to note This is on the very top floor -- the 3rd floor with no elevator, the law allows building with only 3 floors do without elevator. The wide stairs with landings make the climbing easy. The water heater has a fixed capacity of hot water, please bear with us that long shower is not recommended and please wait 30 min before the next person taking showers to let the water to be heated. We just repiped this unit so you have good water pressure and hot water in all sinks and tub. The real hardwood floor may have squeeze sound due to the change of weather, but don’t worry that the neighbor downstairs or next to you won’t hear the sound, the whole building use thick bricks and insolation s between units. The combination code to the basement laundry room is 8123 then "Kwikset" press the door forward then pull it open. It is a hard wood floor unit, please walk gently to be considerate to downstairs people. Thank you. Parking in our lot is $15 per day or $200 per month in summer if available, please contact me. (The public lot is around $25 a day) The owner will pay for the water, sewer, electricity and solid waste. The tenant use electricity judiciously. For long term guests, If the electricity usage is over $60/mo (over 28 days) for one guest or over $80 for two guests, the guests will pay the difference. This is the way that we do not casually waste energy. The rent is based on one person, there is $20 per person per night after the first occupant with advance notice or $25 without advanced notice. Long term guests (over 28 days) due to its discounted rate than weekly or daily rental, need to purchase household consumable goods after the initial supplies are consumed. The cleaning fee is only for washing the linens, making bed, vac and general dusting. The cleaning fee paid upon reservation is for up to one month stay. It needs to be paid again for two-month stay. If for 3-month stay, in the 3rd month guest needs to pay additional two months cleaning fee and the deposit might be deducted for excessive cleaning or damages.
