Your large, cozy, private bedroom is in a shared 1960s home located in a quiet residential neighborhood just 1 mile from downtown Phenix City, 4 miles from Uptown Columbus, 11 miles from Fort Moore. Local coffee shop only 2 blocks away! This spacious private bedroom has a comfy double bed, dresser, recliner chair, ceiling fan, recessed lighting, night stand, lamp, full length mirror and a closet with shelves and hangers. This 4 bedroom older home is shared with multiple other guests. Both bathrooms have a fresh coat of paint. The blue bathroom still has the original, well used, vintage cast iron tub. This space may not be fancy and new but we love what we do and take great pride in taking good care of our guests. There are 3 outside lights in the front and 3 outside lights in the back of the house to make it easier to enjoy being outdoors. The back yard is fenced in and has a fire pit, outdoor table, and chairs. You will have access to the whole home except for the other individual private bedrooms. The washer and dryer are located in the "International Hostel Room" so there may be other guests in the laundry area when you do laundry. Laundry times are limited to 9 am to 9 pm so as to not disturb the sleep of other guests. If you need anything during your stay we will be pleased to assist you — morning, noon or night! We are just a phone call or text away. We only live 2 blocks away. We look forward to meeting you! This shared home is in an older residential neighborhood on the outskirts of town. There is a coffee shop, Common Grounds, only 2 blocks away! Dollar General is about 8 blocks away. There is no public transportation in Phenix City. There is Lyft and Uber in Phenix City, Columbus, and Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning). Groome Transportation can take you from the Atlanta Airport to Columbus, GA, and back. We are sometimes available to assist with your transportation needs. Please be aware of our location before booking. We are: 4 miles from the Phenix City Riverwalk, whitewater, zip line, kayaking,... 4 miles from the GA border and Uptown Columbus. 9 miles from I 185. 14 miles or so to the far side of Columbus (20-25 min.). 11 miles from the Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning) entrance. 30 miles to Opelika/Auburn area. Phenix City goes by Eastern time, the same as Columbus, Fort Moore (Fort Benning), and Atlanta, GA. (Occasionally your phone may flip to Central Time or your GPS may tell you it is Central Time.) So if you work in the area it's best to set your phone so it will not flip back and forth. We are not located in downtown but are minutes from downtown Phenix City. There are 2 outdoor security cameras on this property, one on the front porch and one on the back porch, for the safety of our guests and their property. (This home has central heat and air even though the pictures show an old heater and an old AC unit in the wall of the living room.) Some find the nostalgic interior of this home reminiscent of years gone by. Others enjoy seeing the random antiques and vintage items speckled throughout this home.
