Guests really enjoy watching the Gold Finches and Hummingbirds at all the feeders and occasionally seeing the javelina in the Meadow. There are a few trails within walking distance and the Rodeo is a block away. Grocery shopping (Fry's) or the Saturday Farmers' Market is 3 blocks away! The Cottage is neat as a pin with Bamboo floors, lots of light, a leather sofa and clean mile-high Prescott air! We renovated the 1940's house to add room, light and views to the garden and Meadow. The seasonal creek usually runs in winter after the snows melt and in the monsoon season in July, sometimes August. It's fun to explore wet or dry! We love the wildlife and birds on the property! We get migrations both north and south and have a barn owl nesting box and a bat nesting box! The owls will help keep the gophers from tunneling through the Meadow and the bats will keep the insects and mosquitos down (though that's usually only during monsoon season). We had a Great Horned Owl in the Meadow hang out for a couple months 2 summers ago! We're harvesting some rain water and trying to plant mostly native vegetation but I've also put in a plum tree, an apricot tree and a pear tree, plus the grapevines! It's a lot of work we've done in the last 8 years so we hope you enjoy it! This is our new business venture after losing everything in the recession. The Laundry Room is for our use for Guests or for long-term Guests, a week or longer. Ask Terry or me to unlock it for you if you need it! We just ask you don't put anything fuzzy or new in the washer, like blankets, quilts, towels or sweaters. Our pipes get clogged with lint. We also have a 2 bedroom Casita and an authentic 1 bedroom Log Cabin we rent. Ask us to show you if we don't have any guests there! You can visit with other Guests or not. Each home has its own yard, driveway, entrance, porch, patio, deck, patio furniture, grill. Our private lane is off the street so you don't have to park on the street. We usually greet you when you arrive and then try and stay out of your hair! If we're working on the property during the day we'll wave but probably won't bother you unless necessary. Flag us down anytime you need us. We love meeting guests but also respect your privacy! We are tucked away in a neighborhood that is 1.6 miles from the Courthouse Square! It is a safe neighborhood and you have off-street parking. We are unique in that we are in an urban area but it feels very private since it is 1.25 acres with its own lane, Meadow and Seasonal Creek. Rustic Pie Co. is 2 blocks away and has fabulous homemade fruit and cream pies! Also Wonderful salads, sandwiches and chicken pot pie! Tell Nishon and Kim we sent you! Fry's Grocery store is 2.5 blocks away. There is a new trail to Downtown from the Rodeo grounds if you're adventurous, but it's not marked very well. Centennial Trail and the Rodeo Trails are also within a couple blocks. We are located amongst towering Elms and Cottonwoods. We are planting more evergreens, Vanderwolf Pines, Deodar Cedars and Arizona Cypress but we are not in the forest. The forest is a few minutes drive away at a higher elevation and further away from downtown. We think it's a wonderful combination of urban life and country life! We have off-street parking down our long lane. Taxis and Ubers are available if necessary! Centennial Trail is a great trail and is 2 blocks away. It has boulders, views, a creek and petroglyphs at the end. The Saturday Farmer's Market is 3.5 blocks away. Frys (Krogers) and Starbucks, inside, is 2.5 blocks away. Torme's, a new Italian Bistro, created by our Premier chef, Barry Barbe, is 2.5 blocks away. He also owns El Gato Azul and made the Hilton menu. The World's Oldest Rodeo is 2 Blocks away. Sometimes there are roping events, shooting from horseback and barrel-racing competitions! There are other events during the year also. Wildlife Comes through the property. Prescott is surrounded by forests, Javelina, Coyotes, Deer, Raccoons and Skunks sometimes visit, usually at night. Please don't try to approach the wildlife and keep your pets away.
