Clay Bank River Front Cottage

Recently updated waterfront cottage 2 bedroom - 2 queen beds, a pull out sofa, 28 private acres on the York River in Gloucester, Va. Great remote getaway with a pool, kayaks and private pier for fishing/crabbing. Lightly traveled river. Access to Yorktown, Newport News, Williamsburg, Jamestown, Richmond, Norfolk, Urbanna. Shares the property with the main house where owner lives. The space The cottage is designed as a nice get away from the city with a rustic feel. It is very private, but the property is shared with the main house. Very very Light boats can be launched with 4wd. Fantastic view of the river. Crab pots are available, but bring your own bait, best crabbing is late August/September. The Pool is open seasonally(May-Oct), we do not utilize the pool while we have guests. In the “Pool” category of photos you can see its proximity to our main house and pool house. Kids under 18 must be supervised in the pool. If you are going to bring a pet please note they are not allowed to swim in the pool because of the liner. There are two kayaks available for use on the river as well, paddles are kept in the pool house as well as life jackets. This is a RUSTIC COUNTRY COTTAGE. It's equipped BUT NOT FANCY. We have updated the electrical sockets to make them semi-child proof. There is a tv with internet streaming services available. Recently added a Dishwasher & stackable washer/dryer in unit. It's at the end of a very country road, in the middle of nowhere. It "ain't the city". Another update is I do have chickens on the property so you may hear some crowing in the am. Also if your pet is prey driven just let me know so I can keep them in the coop and there are some outdoor cats. We have a Newfoundland puppy so don’t be alarmed if you see a giant dog accompanying us on walks etc, he is very gentle & friendly as the breed is known for. If you wish to use the land for events, you must apply for special rate. Let us know. Guest access The guest have access to everything on the property except the amenities on the deck attached to the main house. Other things to note Kayak paddles and life jackets are in middle building.
