Swim in the river from private docks at Skipping Stone, a suite in a riverfront house in East Austin 2 miles from downtown perfect for 2 people or solo travelers. Located on the bank of the Colorado River in the heart of the East side, close to restaurants, bars, the airport, trails, SXSW venues, the East Austin Art Tour, and the Colorado River Wildlife Sanctuary. 5 miles from ACL Fest at Zilker Park, 9 miles from Circuit of the Americas. Stunning views of the river and parkland. The space The space is in a modern house and is clean, comfortable, and stylish with AC and heat and a private entrance. Guest access Guests have access to the entire half acre exterior of the property including the river and the downstairs guest suite in the front of the house. During your stay We can be as available or out of the way as our guests want. We can be texted any time for information or recommendations. We created a booklet with listings of our favorite restaurants and bars in the neighborhood as well as info on how to get around including rentals. Other things to note Please note that access to the docks and river is down the bluff about 50 feet on a fairly steep grade of stone stairs. Our place is below a dam so the flow of the river fluctuates daily and seasonally. Swimming is generally great between April and October. The Lower Colorado River Authority lowers the river flow in the fall and winter months so swimming is not ideal between November and March. During the swimming months, the river can rise and fall several feet on any given day. River conditions cannot be guaranteed. We generally do not accept reservations more than a month in advance so dates will appear blocked on the calendar but may open up when your travel dates are within 30 days.
