Description

The Delaney House was built in 1845 by Oregon pioneer Daniel Delaney. The house has an interesting story- come learn about its history! You get 1 large full-size bed suite upstairs w/ private bath, a twin bedroom downstairs and a private living room. 1 rollaway bed also available. Strong Wi-Fi included, & a view to die for. Free coffee/tea/snacks in the kitchen. The gazebo and wrap around porch are waiting for you to kick back and relax on. 10 yr old or over. No pets allowed. The space The Delaney House is the third oldest house still standing in Oregon. 10 years was spent restoring the house to its former glory. There are a lot of stories about the inhabitants of this house, including the original owner - Daniel Delaney. In the book "Rachel's Son, Jackson" you can read all about the story! It's such a great historical house! Ask Vicki about her job writing reviews for horror films, photography, doing SFX makeup and her love of the macabre. Her collection of unusual Halloween type props are scattered around the house. Tim loves cars, motorcycles, bicycles and making knives! He enjoys having people to ride with too! Oliver, our doggie, lives here too. He is a border collie/terrier mix. He loves people, but will not go into your private area. History fans, lovers of antiques, bicyclists, photographers, musicians, international travelers, horror fans, movie makers, and even paranormal investigators have visited and fallen in love with the rustic charm of this house. It has a personality of its own! Guest access Enjoy your own master suite for two, with a private bath and your own living room. You also have access to the wraparound porch, yard, and gazebo. Check-in time is between 3-8pm but since we have to check you in we ask for a time so we are ready for you. We are also very flexible- so be sure to ask if you have a special request. Also included is an extra twin bedroom and living room, with a twin folding cot bed or air mattress if needed. Best for 2 to 3 guests. This is our home- you and your group will be the only guests. You are welcome to sit in our large gazebo and enjoy a drink, or just sit at the fire pit table and enjoy the outdoors. The view from upstairs is truly amazing! The Willamette Valley beauty will blow you away. Prepare to relax and just kickback. You may have some limited kitchen use access, (please ask about this) and your own entrance. Coffee, tea and snacks are available anytime. You have a small refrigerator of your own in your room and individual electric room heaters/air conditioners and fans. The Delaney House is 182 years old! Come enjoy the history!! But remember its an old house, with all the quirks of an old house. LOL! During your stay If you are here, we are here, along with our doggy. We love Oregon- so we are excited to share all our adventures with you, Ideas on places to visit, and maybe a glass of wine or company around the fire pit or in the gazebo. Other things to note We want the Delaney House to be a fun experience for you. We plan to coordinate events with local wineries, so please ask about that too! We offer murder mystery weekends, geocache events, art events, photography, paranormal investigations and other fun stuff! Ask Vicki about anything horror or macabre- that's her thing! And Tim is the outdoor guy- making knives, motorcycles and bicycles are his passion! For more information about things to do just ask!
