The Grove Getaway was est. in 2020. Come enjoy year-round lake life with waterfront firepit, tree swing, hammock, and dock plus 3 rooms, 2 baths, and 2 comfy spaces. A beautiful living & kitchen reno with gorgeous lake views wins guests over on arrival. A gas fireplace warms up the family room and a tankless water heater keeps bathing HOT! The space Our occupancy is set based on individual adults willing to share a room, but not beds. we have 7 queen beds across 3 rooms. We have 4 young kids, so we will work with larger family groups trying to have space for littles. Don't hesitate to message us about your sleeping needs or to inquire about increased occupancy within reason. The first floor bunk room has two queen over queen bunks and a view of the lake. Guests have access to one closet. The quaint main floor bathroom features a walk-in shower. Upstairs, the spacious two queen room is adjacent to a charming full bathroom with shower and tub. In the basement, guests find laundry and another sleeping area with walkout access to the lake. It is a bit cooler in the winter, so basement guests have their own electric fireplace. This room has a blackout curtain rather than a solid door. All rooms have space for air mattresses or pack'n'plays if you need that for family and more flexible sleeping configurations. We use the attached garage as a hangout room with a futton, twin floor mattress, sofa, and rockers (not counted as beds in our occupancy), soft rugs, and an extra fridge. This is NOT temperature controlled. We leave the door open between the two spaces and make use of provided space heaters/fans as needed. Below freezing this room is not workable, and guests should not plan on it for Feb/Jan. winter. It is lovely all summer. On the driveway side, we have a huge playground and playhouse in a field. We also have a gas grill and smoker under the eaves of the shed. The cleaning fee covers the whole house covid deep clean, exterior patio and dock and playground. Guest access You are welcome to the privacy and spaciousness of the whole house, yard, Playground, Ninja Course, hammocks, and dock area. The boards and boats secured on the dock are NOT available for guest use, though you are encouraged to contact the Council Grove Marina to RENT kayaks, boats. We do have many life jackets in various sizes for use! Jackets are required for all youth lake swimmers! You may bring your own toys/boats and tie up at the dock! nside we have about 5 smaller storage spaces that are zip-tied and one rack in the upstairs walk-in closet that holds our family's clothes. There is a large detached shed on the property that is not for guest use. We want to be upfront that this is first and foremost our home where we spend many days/weekends making memories. Over the past 18 months, we have poured our love and energy into bringing it to the charming feel it has now. The Getaway has a few quirks that we are continuing to address from both a maintenance and a guest experience point of view. ( Ex: there is an outdoor breaker that gets tripped if the power flickers during storms...) Also note, during the summer months when we use the home a lot because of both children's allergies and previous damage to dock furnishings and furniture, we CANNOT allow pets at all. We know you love your pup, and we are sorry for the inconvenience. We have permanent neighbors who we respect, and ask you do the same. A mix of friendliness, keeping the yard/dock items picked up, and ensuring noise levels are in check is much appreciated!! When staying at The Grove Getaway in the 2022 season, you will have a clean and joyful stay, full of amenities and plenty of space to work and play with restful views and fantastic outside space. Other things to note We love our lake but recognize that "With great fun comes great responsibility!" We are very serious that all children who can not swim need to be wearing life jackets when playing in the yard--even when it's cold outside. If adults are going to let kids play on the playground equipment in the field far from the lake unsupervised, the non-swimmers should have life jackets on up there as well. This is what we do for our 2 non-swimmers, and I can't tell you how many times in 4 months it has already been relevant. Life jackets are provided in the garage hangout room. The Lake is deep and dark and if a kid goes in you won't even see where they went. When anyone in your group is swimming in the lake they need to be wearing a life jacket. Grown Ups included. For every 6 kids there needs to be at least one completely sober adult when children are swimming. Additionally we have provided up high locks To help make sure little's don't wander off when you don't want them to.
