Description

Relax and unwind at South Lake! Located less than 10 minutes away from the town of Minden, you'll love swimming off the 500 sq ft dock, exploring by canoe and kayak, all the best lawn games, stunning sunsets from the new fire pit, and a sky full of constellations. Perfect for families or friends to enjoy all of the comforts of a modern cottage without missing rustic charm. Cozy up by the propane fireplace and play board games or watch movies. High-speed internet is remote work-friendly! The space Renovated and redecorated in 2020, enjoy a fully-loaded open-concept kitchen and dining room complete with a dishwasher and safe tap water, and living room with modern furniture, and a flat-screen TV to watch DVDs or streaming services. The elegant new bathroom with a deep tub will melt your worries away. Enjoy the view of the yard and lake from a screened Muskoka room and get your grill on with a direct propane hookup. Outdoors, enjoy 100ft of clear shoreline with shallow, sandy entry and a massive 500 sq ft dock. Gather around the new fire pit or share a meal at the oversized 12-foot picnic table. Unlike many other cottages, just about everything you could need is provided. Fresh linens (bedding, bath and beach towels, pillows, spare blankets) are provided and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'd need to prepare a Thanksgiving feast. Guest access Guests have access to the entire space. Other things to note -There is a smart lock you can use for self-check in when you get there. -The hot tub is operational year-round and has almost always been available for use. If previous guests did not follow the use instructions the water may not be suitable for use and it often cannot be resolved immediately. For this reason, use of the hot tub is not guaranteed and we hope you'll help us take care of the hot tub during your stay to keep it safe and clean for all to enjoy. -There is no waste pickup service in Minden so recycling and garbage must be taken to the landfill at the end of your stay. A landfill pass is provided so there is no additional fee, and there are several locations available with the Scotch Line Landfill only a ~10 minute drive away -There's an ice maker on the kitchen counter that makes up to 26 lbs of ice per day -The coffee maker is a FlexBrew so you can make a pot with ground coffee or use K-Cups (not provided) - a BBQ with direct hookup to propane so you never have to worry empty tanks - Bunch of lawn games (Spikeball, ladder toss, bocce, Kan Jam) - Board games (Settlers of Katan, Taboo, Cards Against Humanity, Rush Hour, Codenames, a puzzle and some books). - There's also a bylaw so no fires are allowed before 7pm from April to November - There's a full kitchen and dishwasher (please do your own dishes before you leave) and all the main cooking and bbq utensils you'd need. - There are two 10-ft kayaks and a 14 ft canoe available for your use with a lifejacket. The paddles are hung up on the canoe rack and there are 2 large and 1 medium lifejacket in the storage bin beside the canoe rack - please bring your own if these will not fit you or if you need more. - The water off the dock is only about chest height, so don't dive, but a shallow cannonball will work. The water gets deep about 20 ft further out. There's a thermometer tied to the stairs so you can check the water temperature. At the shore, you are also able to enter the water where there's a gradual slope and a mostly sandy shore. It's one step down to the water so young children should be extra cautious. - The cottage is also on a septic tank, so please only put toilet paper in it and while the water is unlimited, it's also not a good idea to have more than like 4-5 quick showers in a short time frame. - The water is from the lake and goes through a UV filtration system so it's safe to drink. Please note: - I operate on a Mon-Fri/Fri-Mon/week-long booking schedule during the peak summer season from Canada Day to Labour Day - 3-night minimum stays on long weekends - The cottage is dog-friendly, but due to allergies cats are not welcome
