Description

Welcome to the Dillingham Suite at Rooms at the Mill! Find your peaceful retreat in this comfortable one-room suite featuring a cozy loft. Set in a historic mill, our 2nd-floor suite requires navigating historic stairs and uses a sparkling clean shared bathroom (with a simple sign-in sheet for showering). Whether hiking Kettle Moraine's Ice Age Trail, fishing the mill pond, or attending events 3-4 miles away at Road America, we are your perfect getaway. The space The Mill & Grounds: Rooms at the Mill is a preserved 19th-century Historical Landmark situated on the water. The property offers a rare look at historic architecture, featuring the original mill flume and a mill race running through the property. The Neighborhood: We are tucked away on a quiet, dead-end street in the rural village of Glenbeulah. The property borders the Mill Pond and Anton Barta Park, offering a true small-town Wisconsin feel on the edge of the Northern Kettle Moraine Forest. Peace & Quiet: Located away from main roads, the property is characterized by the sounds of the waterfall and local nature. It is an ideal setting for those seeking a sanctuary while remaining only a four minute drive from the energy of Road America. Guest access Arrival & Entry Guest Entrance: The door on the left (as you face the building) gains you access to Rooms at the Mill. Private Entrance: The door on the right is a private entrance, so we ask that you do not linger or congregate in this entryway area. Inside the Mill In addition to your private suite, you are welcome to enjoy two floors of authentic, expansive mill space. This is rare opportunity to explore a 19th- century historic landmark from the inside. First Floor: This area features original heavy timber millwork and historic mill machinery. There is also a vintage desk, a café table and chairs, and a small library for your use. Second Floor: A wide open historic space showcases massive hand-hewn support beams. This floor houses a historic wooden elevator and other mill equipment. The Old Mill Vibe: Please note that these common areas are in the original, unconditioned section of the building. They are not temperature-controlled, staying cool or warm with the Wisconsin seasons. Cleaning Standards: While we keep these areas tidy for your enjoyment of the architecture and history, they are not sanitized to the same deep-clean standards of your private suite. Prohibited Area: For your safety, the third floor is roped-off as guests are not allowed. There is also a designated private area on the second floor that is off-limits. Outside & Grounds Front Yard & Waterfront: You are welcome to view the water or the mill race from the front yard or to cross the gravel bridge for viewing. Private Area: The back yard is strictly private and prohibited for guest use. Please use only the designated guest areas. During your stay While we prioritize your privacy and peace, we are happy to help with any questions or needs. Communication: For your security and ours, we communicate exclusively through Airbnb. This ensures all information regarding your stay is documented and accessible. Availability: We are available to respond to messages throughout the day and evening. Please note that we are not available for immediate assistance overnight; we will respond to messages sent during that time first thing in the morning. Other things to note Heating and Cooling The Mill uses a central heating and cooling system regulated by the hosts to keep the building at a comfortable baseline. To further personalize the temperature and keep you comfortable in your private suite, you have the following options: Air Conditioning: Your suite is equipped with its own window air conditioning unit, allowing you to control your own cooling level in warmer months. Vents: You may open or close the vents in your suite to help regulate the airflow from the central system. Windows: Windows can be opened or closed at your discretion. Fans: Fans are provided to maximize your comfort. Extra blankets: We provide additional blankets for those who prefer more warmth. Conservation: We want you to be as comfortable as possible. We simply ask that you use your best discretion and be mindful of energy use to help us stay efficient. Please ensure that all windows are closed when your window air conditioning is running, and kindly turn off fans and air conditioning when you are away. Please note: While the guest suites are climate-controlled, the historic common areas of the Mill are unconditioned and stay naturally cool or warm with the seasons.
