Description
Tent sites available range from primitive locations atop the 1/4 mile long mesa with a 20+ mile view under the stars to groves of mature elm trees in a valley with a stone fire rings or a ravine side site with evergreens, mature elms and water available. Explore down the ravine while finding wild hares in sage brush, turtles, horny toads, petrified wood and more wildflowers than you could imagine all punctuated by picturesque sunrises and sunsets. RV OUTLETS Available also (contact for info) The space The only sounds at night will be serenading coyotes and a breeze rustling the leaves. The only sights will be brilliant stars or a full moon. During your stay be sure to stop by the ranch store for our grass-fed and finished beef products, free range chicken eggs, local organic cotton Lone Mound Ranch tshirts, and goat milk products. (Meat, eggs, and dairy are seasonal) In addition to hiking, biking, and bringing your own ATVS, we also offer guided horseback rides. We have trail rides available for adults and simpler rides for children in the barnyard. We can accommodate all levels of experience but rides must be booked in advance. Guest access Our campsites are scattered across the 460 acre ranch with some being more private and remote, and some being easier access for larger rigs or late arrivals. While you generally have the place to yourself, we do ask that noise is kept to a reasonable level if there are other guests within earshot. Other things to note Ranch roads can be impacted during and immediately after significant precipitation. When camping it is always wise to check local weather reports during your expected time frame.
