Description

Explore a vintage truck camper. Airstream never made a truck camper, but competitor Avion did. It's small on outside, but inside the vintage 1971 truck camper you'll have everything you need. The near original, well maintained vintage truck camper has a bathroom equipped with dry toilet, sink and (often cold) shower. The mid section has a refrigerator/freezer, double sink, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven, and U-shaped dinette. There's a cozy double bed above the truck cab (low headroom). The space Spend two to three nights in a vintage Truck Camper. It looks like an Airstream Travel Trailer - perched on a pickup truck bed! I can move the truck camper to several spots on my property - but it is best to keep it near my barn so you have access to electricity. The property is almost 8 acres and borders the 4500 acre Oak Openings Metro Park (in back) and the 4000 acre Maumee State Forest (in front). You can hike in either direction to the many trails thru the Oak Savannah that makes this area of the Black Swamp unique. Although the Truck Camper is VERY small, there's plenty of room to roam around outside. You can enjoy the barbecue grill, fire pit, take one of the kayaks out in the small pond, or just grab a chair and watch the birds (I've been rearing two clutches of Turkey Vultures for past two years - you are likely to see them flying circles overhead. And I am expecting a third clutch this summer). I do have two large dogs. The property has several fenced areas, however, so we can keep our pets separated. The back yard has an almost complete agility course (jumps, pause table, teeter, weave polls, contact trainer) and you are welcome to train your dog. Your dog can also swim in the pond. One kayak is a sit-on-top and my dog enjoys paddling with me. I live onsite so I'm available to help. You are welcome to use the guest bathroom inside for showers as it's more convenient than the propane heated shower in the camper, which may not heat the water (and my guest bathroom is bigger, too). Guest access You'll have access to my 8 acre property with pond, fire pit and pastures. There's also a Weber charcoal grill, and I have cast iron dutch ovens in all sizes, pie irons etc if you want to explore campfire cooking. There's a10x20 stall connected to a large run which is partially covered with roof to use as a very large dog run. Your dog can also freely play in a one acre fenced pasture. I'd prefer your dog be kept on leash on the rest of the property - there are deer, coyotes, raccoons, skunks etc. - and I'd hate for your dog to chase down the 1/4 mile drive way to the road. Access to guest bathroom for hot shower / bath. I do live onsite - with two large well socialized dogs. Other things to note It's a VINTAGE truck camper! Please have the appropriate expectations that it is over 40 years old and its footprint is very small (if you've been interested in tiny houses, this is extra tiny!) This is an adventure and a chance to stay in a unique camper, not a stay at a luxury hotel. Thanks!
