Picket Fence Farm Private Guest Retreat Suite

Stay in a 2nd story private suite in a modern farmhouse where we reside on a family farm in Amish country. Guests have the entire 2nd floor: 2 bedrooms, a private bath, and a sitting room. You can watch Amish buggies drive by while you rock on the front porch, access shared patio spaces or sit by a creek. We have cows, goats & chickens. We're in the heart of Shipshewana Amish/Mennonite community, minutes from downtown Shipshewana & all it has. An authentic, comfortable country getaway. The space We offer a private suite including a private bath, up to two spacious bedrooms with queen beds in each, and a sitting room with a pull-out love seat with a twin bed. Each bedroom has a small sitting space. The sitting room has a gathering space, a work/dining table, games, a DVD player, books, a coffee bar, and small appliances for food. If you need only one bedroom, we place you in the larger room. No other guests use this space but your party. For food preparation, we have a space in the sitting room with a small microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven, and small refrigerator. We do not have a full kitchen. Staying true to our slower-paced location, we have books for your reading pleasure, and a DVD player, but no cable or smart TV. The spaces you’re in are still home to our adult children when they visit. Family memories and our Anabaptist faith and heritage are intertwined in the decor. Heirloom quilts and bed coverings are displayed in each room. No cold, clinical generic Airbnb vibe here. We have many books to read, including local history and rural nostalgia. You are welcome to walk around our property, use the covered patio, sit on the swing by the creek, or use the hammock in the summer. Guest access You have access to our beautiful yard and shared patios. Other things to note We have a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and Keurig coffee maker. Because of COVID safety regulations, we simply provide coffee pods and disposable plates/utensils. We have outdoor dogs that are in their gated space and two indoor dogs are separate from your space. We have cows, chickens, and goats. We live on a main road and at various times of the day, traffic can be busy with workers going to and from the RV factories. We also live in the country with rural sounds, such as animals and tractors. We have sound machines in each room if needed for these unfamiliar sounds. This is our personal residence: no indoor pets or smoking are allowed.
