Description

The stone house is nestled on a small dead end street in the heart of the Boulevard Historic District. Guests are a modest walk to downtown as well as to the many offerings in Normaltown. The space The stone house was built in the 1940s and retains its unique charm from that era. The living room up front provides lovely natural light and a nice place to read or play a game. The adjoined dining room is spacious and also has plenty of natural light. The kitchen is modest in size but has everything needed to make a nice meal at home. Washing dishes by hand affords a nice view of birds in the tree outside and you may occasionally see the train going by in the distance. There is also a side door in the kitchen which lets in plenty of fresh air. All rooms have ceiling fans which provide plenty of air flow throughout the house. The house has a separate TV room off of the kitchen and connects to the laundry room and second bath in the back. (This room now has a 'sofa' that can be converted into either two twin beds or one king bed.) While the house doesn’t boast a modern facelift, we hope our guests will enjoy the charm of this sweet and simple home. Guest access Guests may use the main front entrance and the side kitchen access. There is a mud room off of the living room which is off limits as it is for home supplies and access to our used carport. You may go through this space to put extra trash or recycling located in the collection bins in the carport. Other things to note All families living on our street have young / school aged children. We realize that Athens is a destination for football fans, so out of respect for our neighbors, if you are here to party this might not be the best fit for you. We are close to an active train track. Sometimes it’s barely noticeable but every once in a while it can be loud. Earplugs are provided for your convenience. The house can accommodate up to 6, but please note it is primarily set up for 4 people. The “sofa” can be converted into two cots but requires some lifting to set up; we are happy to have that set up in advance - just let us know.
