YHA Ambleside

The YHA Ambleside sits on the shores of Lake Windermere in the Lake District. It offers a range of budget accommodations and a café serving local food. After being refurbished, the property now features newly decorated rooms, a new restaurant and a decked terrace with lake views. Some bedrooms have views across both the lake and the Langdale Pikes. This hostel offers private rooms with en-suite or allocated shared bathrooms.. The bar offers a range of local ales and there is a large garden. There are many walking and cycling routes surrounding YHA Ambleside, and there is a bike store on site. A variety of watersports can be enjoyed on the lake. Ambleside village is a 10-minute walk from the YHA hostel. It has a selection of quaint tea rooms, artisan shops and country pubs. The majority of rooms contain bunk beds. Breakfast is available for an additional charge. This hostel has a free car park on-site for guests and patrons (subject to availability). This car park is controlled by an ANPR parking system. Upon arrival, you will need to validate your presence by entering your car's registration number at reception. Charges apply though overnight guests benefit from a discounted rate of £5 per vehicle for 24 hours. To claim these rates, please notify reception once you've parked. If this is full, there is limited on-street parking in front of the pier and on Lake Road (three-minute walk). There is also a pay and display car park two minutes' walk from the hostel on Borrans Road. An private bathroom is featured in this room.
