The space Enjoy this cozy, rustic, post and beam studio Guesthouse with cathedral ceilings and loads of natural wood. The thoughtful interior that is full of unique pieces was designed by the owner who is a designer in NYC. The latest in comfort and technology is provided ; High speed internet, Ring keyless door lock, Nest thermostat, Ruko TV and you own Air Conditioner! Flexible Sleeping arrangement features a Queen bed downstairs or climb the ships ladder to the 2 twin beds in the sleeping loft. A pull-out trundle bed (under the Queen) is suitable for an additional small child. Fix yourself a meal in the newly renovated kitchenette or on the outdoor grill reserved just for your use. Eat at the charming Art Deco kitchen table and chairs or outside on the patio. Watch the sunset over nearby Quaker Hill (Hudson Valley, NY) from your deck. Stargazing is amazing either outside or from the sleeping loft skylights! Be lazy and watch Roku TV from the bed or comfy chairs. Allow the kids to play on the grass right outside your door or take a walk around our pond. Dogs love our open space! Newly renovated custom bathroom ! Guest access The guesthouse studio with private entrance, deck and patio is entirely yours. The 3 acres of meadow, lawn, trees, garden and pond are shared with us and the local wildlife. So far we have seen fox, bobcat, skunk, mink, deer, coyote, raccoon, fisher cat, loads of rabbits and birds, and very occasionally a bear. You are welcome to enjoy the property and may sometime see us but we will not disturb your enjoyment. Take a nature walk around the property or try out our great sledding hill! Bikes (sometimes), kayaks and sleds available seasonally. Other things to note Are you a Gilmore Girls fan? We are only 15 min from New Milford. This is a quaint town credited with inspiring the show. The ride up to Kent is also picturesque and has great restaurants. We have just added a sleeping loft with 2 twin beds. A quick climb up the ship's ladder takes you to a great space for kids or kids at heart! Once you reserve the Guesthouse we will send you a 20+ page Guesthouse Guidebook with loads of info about recommended sights and activities nearby. Come for all 4 seasons of peaceful beauty and activities; Spring... nature puts on a big show of flowers and the beautiful rolling hills turn greeeeeen! The frogs in our pond will sing you to sleep (really). The Elephant Trunk Flea Market (biggest in New England) opens and you can enjoy great hiking. Bikes are available and 2 kayaks will be by the lake starting in May. Fresh produce from our garden will include asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries and more. Summer... weather will warm Candlewood Lake for swimming and more kayaking. Nestled in a quiet cove our town's lake beach has, floating rafts, life guards and restrooms. Free passes will be available for this low key family friendly way to cool off! Great for evening picnics as well. Also available are 2 adult bikes and a bike rack for you to transport them to local trails. Flea and farmer's markets will be in full swing. Great hiking with covered bridges and waterfalls is nearby and highly recommended. Whitewater rafting available in Cornwall. We will be sharing loads of tomatoes, berries, and other delights from out hilltop garden. Fall...is the time for color, harvest and maple syrup. Amazing scenic driving, hiking and eating in quaint nearby towns. Make sure to hit the outdoor markets for great produce or flea market finds. Walk to the nearby farm for fresh pasture raised meat, eggs and veggies. Expect fresh goodies from our hilltop garden, such as pumpkins, late tomatoes and raspberries. Winter...is full of snow! Hit the nearby slopes at Thunder Ridge or Mohawk for skiing or borrow sleds to enjoy our amazing sledding hill. Looking to just get away from the hustle and bustle or have a writer's retreat?
