Five minutes from the city center, just above the Guimarães Castle, the Casa de Margaride has been standing since the 10th century. This property belonged to Countess Mumadona Dias and is referred to in medieval documentation as "Villa Margaridi" in a letter dating back to the year 1021. Rosinha's Lodge is a beautiful duplex apartment created in the old agricultural outbuildings of Casa de Margaride. Casa de Margaride and its Garden are classified by the Portuguese State as Heritage of Public Interest. The space IMPORTANT: Rosinha's Lodge accommodates a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children, up to 18 years old, on the sofa bed. Rosinha's Lodge is a duplex apartment (45m2) composed, on the ground floor, of a pleasant living room and kitchenette and a bedroom on the first floor. The living room is equipped with a sofa bed (140x200 cm) and TV; the kitchenette has an oven, microwave, two-burner stove, coffee maker and fridge with freezer. The finely decorated bedroom with stunning views has a king-size bed (180x200 cm), a shower, toilet and air-conditioning. Rosinha's Lodge was decorated using wood from the property, with Persian rugs (Kilim), jute and esparto. Outside, there is a table and chairs to enjoy the outdoors and the view of Penha Mountain Villa Margaridi features a classic geometric garden that guests can enjoy for strolling among boxwoods, reading a book in one of the many nooks or having a picnic under a tree. In the summer, you can also dive into the pool that has sunshine all day. The stay at Villa Margaridi combines the pleasure of being in the countryside while being practically in the center of the city. Guest access Guests have access to all common areas of Villa Margaridi, gardens and swimming pool. Visiting the main house is possible by appointment and has an additional cost. Other things to note Guests can help themselves to vegetables from the garden and pick fruit from the trees for their meals, subject to seasonal availability. The pool will only be open in the warm months and pool towels can be provided for a deposit of 5 euros. In order to prevent any accidents, we draw attention to the fact that a wooden beam has been kept at a height of 193 cm from the floor of the room, in order to preserve the beautiful original roof beams.
